THE LATE RoBEeT DlaxeoN.—The sub.
jeot of thio notioe, whose demise at
Crystal, North Dakota, on March 25th,
at the home of hie son, Harry, was
reported last week, was born at Roxboro'
shire, Sootlend, over 80 yeare ago and
Dame to Canada in 1834, when 9 years of
age, along with hie mother and other
members of the family. The father and
eon James had preceded them the year
previone. They located at Roxboro',
MoKillop township, where they exper-
ienced the toile of pioneer days, In 1849
deoeaeed wae united in marriage to Mies
Jane Aun Grant, of Stanley township,
and after eoj caning in MoKiilop town-
ship until 1870 they bought the Squires'
175 aurae on the llth and 12th none. of
Grey township where they made their
borne until 1886, when a tidy plot of land
was purchased in Brutish), Here the
next 10 or 11 yeare were spent when Mr.
and Mre. Diokeon removed to Detroit
where the latter paid Nature's debt in
1898, her remains being interred in the
family plot at Brunie oemetery. Since
the demise of his life partner Mr,Diokeon
visited among hie children at various
pointe, He had been in failing health
for the past 2 yearn and his death wise
doe to old age. Always hearty and
ragged Mr. Dickson knew little of physi-
oal ailments. He watt an intelligent man,
well posted on many etbjeote and was
held in high esteem by all who knew him.
He was the last of the eons of hie father's
family. Mre. Jamas Soott, of Seaforth,
arid Mre, Ohieholm, of Bradwardine, of
Manitoba, are the surviving sisters. The
body of Mr. Diokeon was brought to
Brussels for interment. Funeral service
was bald in Melville church on Friday
afternoon, Rev. Jno, Roee, 13. A„ deliver.

MRs. JOHN Juane DECEASED.—Early
last Friday Steanna Dark, relict of the
late John Jones, passed peacefully to the
rest of God's children, at the advanced
age of 80 yeare. She was making her
home with her daughter, Mrs. Riobard
Mitchell, 8rd line, Morrie, for acme time
past and had been confined to bed for 4
or 5 weeks, plenriey and inflammation of
the bowels being a combination at her
age that defied medical skill. Deoeseed
was oonsoions to the last and proved the
truthfulness of many promieee that had
buoyed bar ap in her voyage over life's
ocean, Mr. Jones died on Aag. 24th
1899, aged 80 yeare. The atbjeot of this
notice ,was born in Devonshire, England,
and immediately after her marriage on
Aug, 9th, 1852, Bailed for the new world,
from Bristol. A few 'months were spent
in New York State after whioh they
lived at Mitchell, Ont., for a couple of
years and then moved to lot 9, con. 10,

home Until 1884, a bones and lot were
bought in Brussels South and there the

Johnston, of Florida ; Mrs, Richard

funeral on Monday afternoon, excepting

Mre. Jones was a devoted Christian

all who knew her.
