He was married in 1833 to Martha Campbell, and settled on a farm in Simone county, near Barrie, where he remained until 1860, when be removed with hie family to Elms, taking up a farm on the 2nd eon, Here he resided until about 11 yeare ago, when be retired from the farm and moved to town. Of a family of eleven, eight sone and &umlae70 survive, three of whom, Mre. Archer, James and George, are living at home. The eldest eon died tt few yeare ago. Mr. Dodds was a Presbyter- ian in religion and a Liberal in pn'itino. He had been an elder in Cavan church, Winthrop, for over twenty yeare. He WKS a min of exemplary and sterling obaraoter, of more than ordinary in=.ell(• genoe and was upright and bonoralle in all his dealings with his fellow men.
