Salter died at Viotoria Hospital, London,
after a serious illness of 4 weeks of
pneomodia and typhoid fever, Deceased
was only 22 years of ego and teas a
brother to W. H. Salter, of Brussels, and
was a fine young man who enjoyed the
esteem of maty. The remains were
taken to Exeter for internment. W. H.
and Mre. Salter left town Tuesday
evening to be present at the
funeral. The mother of dummied is
also to the nick liet. -

LITTLE STARS MISSION BAND.—Last
Saturday the annual meeting of the
Little Stare Mieeion Band, of Melville
church, was hold and the following
intereetitg report was presented ;—'Nino
years ago thin mouth the Little Stare
Minion Band was organized, during
tbeee years the membership has been
varied. The first year we had 100 names
on nor roll, tbie year we have 75. The
allure in charge daring the past year
were :—Pres„ Mies L. Roes ; Vice Pres.,
Mre. J. Kerr 12nd Vies -Pres., Miss May
Deadman ; Treas., Eva Caber; Secre-
tary, May Slums ; assistant Seo., Katie
Deadman. Eleven meetioge have been
bald during the year. The largest
attendance was 53 in November and the
emallert was in August, the average
ttendanoe being 34. Besidee patching
six quilts, whioh were sent in the ladies'
box to the Northwest, we have taken tip
a thorough course of study on China
which has been very helpful in giving ne
a better knowledge of the needs of the
country and the work done by our
Mieeionaries there, In July a picnic
was held on the manse lawn and was
very enjoyable and largely attended. In
November the meeting took the form
of a thank offering. After a nioe pro•
gram found the

greatly to our fonds. Two members,
Edith Wilton and Eva Oober, attended
every meeting. Four other°, Bethel
Kerr, Bertha Roee, Muir Thomson and
Katie Deadman, were at all but one.

the hands of the Treasurer, The total

Arthur, Bluevale, Mildmay and Brunets,
Mr. Oreightoa being in tbe employ of the
Grand Truck Railway for a number of
years, They made their home in Bros.
Bele for a good many years. About a
year and a ball ago the eobject o1 this
notice went to Hamilton to visit and watt
planning 10 go East on a holiday with
her moo, Harold and his wife at North
Grafton, Maas., U. S. She was a Diem•
bar of the Methodist church for year; and
Was very highly reopeoted. Two sone
and two daughters survive. Service was
aondaoted at Mr. Creighton'e in Remit.

year. A half sister, Miss Crawford, re-
sides in Toronto. The bereaved share
in the eympetby of the community.
