few remarks. The gentleman made a

people bed collected for him, It was a

expeoted kindness, so unexpectedly
showered upon him, but be thanked the
audience, and after the supper gave an
interesting talk onl his visit to the
mountains during the past Summer.

The Young People's Guild, of the
Preebyterlao church, entertained the Ep-
worth League of the Methodist oburoh on
Friday evening Nov. 18th. A pleasant
and profitable time was spent.
The new steel highway bridge over the
Maitland river in Fordwiob is now com-
pleted. The bridge is 78 feet in lengtb,
16 feet in height, Pratt Trues conetlnation
with a 14 foot roadway and a 3 foot
walk, resting on Substantial camerae
abutments, The flooring le plank Bop•
ported by strong steel joiete, The min-

roadway therefore the bridge is not
straight with the road, The steel work
has been prouounoed first-class and was
erected by Alex. Hill & Go,, of Mitchell,

were erected by T. W. Hill, of Bornholm.
We have heard that the total 0001 will be

After a few days' illness, Edward

months, A few weeks ago he was taken
ill, but he thought he would soot be

The disease gradually grew worse and de.

for his recovery. Loving friends did all
they could to lessen his sufferings, but it
was of no avail. Deoeaaed was born and
bred in Howlok. He spent seven years
in Northville, Mioh, He was universally
reepeoted. The remains were Interred on
Saturday iu Fordwieh cemetery, a very
large conooaree of friends gathering to
pay a lest tribute of respect. The ser.
vices at the house and grave were con.
