week Wm. Steveneon, of this town, was
killed at Harrieton by being run over by

long wait, he started; as he thought, for

by mistake. He then attempted to get
off while the train was in motion, fell

drawn under and the wheels passed

He remained oonsoicne, however, and

performed but the poor man never rallied
atter. Mr. Steveneon'e father wan a nu
tive of Armagh, Ireland, and settled
near Ottawa. Mr. Stevenson himself

took up land in Elms., and retired eome
three years ago. He was for many
years the eacoeseful manager of the
Erma obsess faotory at Britton, and ie
widely known in this part of the oountry.
Hie ability and integrity hove earned
him many positions of public trust, all
of whioh he filled in an able manner and
to the satisfaction of his fellow oitizene.
He has been ooanoillor and a school
trustee brit lately retired from public
life being over seventy pears of age. His

Alex. Soots, who married a daughter of
Thos. Smith, of Wroxeter, last Spring,
and went to Saskatoon locality, N. W. T.,

and the remains are being brought home
here for interment. His young wife and

regret is expressed at Mre, Bolger',
demise and 'sympathy with the bereaved
in their lore of wife and mother. Mre,

Mrs. George Bloomfield, of Winnipeg,

children in the West were: unable to get
home to the funeral owing to the
distance.
We are very sorry to state that Martha
Illilda, the little daughter of Andrew and
Mre. Knight, Ni lot 28, Con. 9, died on
Tuesday evening of laryngitis with
oonvuleiooe. The little one wee a grand•
daughter of the late Mre. Jae. Bolger who
was interred Tuesday afternoon, The
little girl wee 1 year, 5 months' and 20
days old. The funeral took plaoe on
Thnredoy afternoon to Bruesale cemetery.
Mr. and Mre. Knight have the sympathy
of the oommonity.
The 200 sore farm of Samuel Walker,
6th line, has been leased to John Jaok-
eon, naw of McKillop, a former reeident
of the 8th line. Mr. Walker's health
has not been very vigorous daring the
past Summer, Asthma troubling him
and he will probably take a trip to the
Nortnweet next Spring with a view of

not remove from the farm, at least in

to Brussels next month where he has

1862 deceased wee married to ber now
bereft partner at Clinton and after a
residence in MoKillOp township near
Senforth until 1878 they moved to their
