THE eeatertb News in commenting on
the recent Intermediate Foot Ball match
in that town °aye' --There was a good
turnout of 011188ne at the Repreabion
groaods on Monday evening to witness
the game between Brussels and the
Hurons. Tbe weather was cold and net
conducive to good play. Brneeele scored
the Bret goal in five minutes ; Seatarbb
the second in twenty minutes, batt time
being celled with the aeon 1-1. The
Hamm, by some nine combination, eoored
in one mingte after play was resumed,
They had all the better of the play et this
stage, but McLeod was laid off, and
Brussels oaaght the defence too tar out
and snored in 7 minutes, Seaforth had
the beet of the play to the ficial but
could not soon and the game ended 2-2.
It was the first time the Hurons played
together this year and they were Pet in
condition. However, the boys will ehow
their form later on. 0. Sills, Barnett
and Stewart played well. Brussels have
a fine pair of broke and a good goal-
keeper. Referee MsLanohlin made
several deaieione whiob were rather die-
couraging to the Herons.
,Iambs LEAS=E Fool BALL. -The &deet
game in the Junior foot ball contest in
this diatriot was played in Brnanele
between representatives of Winghani sad
Brussels the only teams in group N N. 1 on
Friday evening, Ali goals counted in thin
000teet the play wag of a very energetic
character that nailed oat the pewees of
the competing teams and the result was a
snappy, well played game, free from
jangle and with comparatively little
roughness. Referee Burgeee did his work
very nioely and we believe tried to deal
out justice to all although some of our
boys thought the fouls palled were hardly
evenly assigned ae they should have been.
At the opening of the matoh the visilore
put snob zest in their kinking that it
looked rather threatening to last year's
ohampione but es the game progressed
the home players took -in the situation
and reversed the line of atteok and scored
the first) and only goal shortly after the
change of goale at half time bad taken
place, Many alone oalls were on the
program but goalkeeper Robineon
was very alert and held down the record
to 1 to O. If Bruseele bad been playing
its fall team the total would no doubt
have been maoh larger. Wingbam boys
played a strong game and fought it is the
end and the next boat on their park
will be looked forward to with no small
interest. The players were ae under:-
