of last week. Mr. Boyd bad gone to the

distanee below the thigh. Mrs. Boyd
had gone tbet morning to see Mr. Swit

only returned a abort time when the
aceident occurred. He got Mr. Boyd on
to a stoceboat and oonveyed him so the
house and then hurried for Mrs. Boyd
and the doctor. Several neighbors nai-
led and offered kindly ausistanee and the
broken limb was nicely eet, without
giving Mr. Boyd mph pain. Owing to
hie advanced age, the injury will likely
confine him to end for some months.
The accident seems partioularly sed at
this time as Mr. Boyd but recently under.
went NO operation for the removal of a
cataract from tier eye and was in better
health and able to move around with
greater ease than for some years past.
It is with very sincere regret that we

some time and to this was added con
geation cif the lunge and other nompli-
catione which gradually wore away her
strength. All Chet human love and skill
Gould deviled was done to keep the dear
one with them, but without enemies. The
grim messenger came and oonquered.
The funeral took place ou Tuesday to
Etma Centre Cemetery and was largely
emended. Rev, Dr. Malaita oonduoted

of a woman and before her Meese gave no
indication of delicate health. Her ruddy
complexion and splendid physique pee

But all this goes to show the uneertainity
of life. Her family have the sympathy
of a largo oiroie of Mende in their
