CHURCH UntoN.—The questiou of
church union is to be submitted to the
ofrteial boards and the membership of
the Methodist church within the next
six months. The General Conterenae
special committee at its annnsi meeting
last Thursday the board room at

Wesley buildings directed that a vote be
taken by the official Boards not later
than the third quarterly meeting of the
boards iu the conference year, that is,
in February and that n vote of the
membership shall be taken not later than
.April n5th. The superintendents of
circuits and missions will be instruct-
ed to arrange that the fullest possible
vote of the membership be secured. A
sufficient number of copies of the basis
of union will bes ent to each superinten-
dent to enable him to be present a copy
to each family on his charge There
will be three ballots prepared, one for
the members of the church eighteen
years of age and over and one for the
members of the church under eighteen

formation only will bee

Grand Jury Presentment
The following is the presentment of
the Grand Jury at the recent assizes.
The Jurors for our Lord the King,
respectfully Present as follows
We examined the court house,
registry office, jail and house of refuge
and wish to state that we found these
buildings, in all departments, clean
and apparently well kept.
After careful examination, we con-
clude that the heating, ventilation,
water supply and sanitary arrange-
ments, in each building are fairly
good. We think a building should be
erected at the jail in which to store
fuel and not lave it exposed in the
open. We found three reale inmates
in the jail, Thomas Wall appears
harmless, charged as being insane;
Joseph Smeltzer, committed as a
vagrant. This party has been kept in
the house of refuge for the past five
years and was recently removed eo
the jail, because he is an epileptic and
dangerous to be allowed to mingle
with the inmates of the house of
refuge. C. W. Cross is awaiting his
trial on a charge of larceny.
We visited the house of refuge,
,,which is situated near the town -of
Clinton. This is an 'institution or
home for the care of indigent and
friendless people of this county. We
were careful in our examination and
front garret to cellar, we are satisfied
with its appearance. Our impression
is, that itis a marvel bow an institu-
tion providing for eighty-five inmates
most of whom are aged and helpless,
can be kept so clean and the atmos-
phere throughout the building so
pure.
The sleeping apartments in both the
jail and house of refuge, seem to be
particularly well kept.
The farm on which the house of
refuge is situated is well cultivated
and the out -buildings are tidy and
sufficient.
We also made inquiry and inspec-
tion of schools and hospitals. The
new school in Goderich has been
occupied for about year. We wish to
say that it was a source of pleasure
and instruction to visit the different
departments in this building.
The registry office seems comfort.
able and everything appeal's tidy and
well kept. Shrubbery and flower
beds make theg rounds around this
building particularly ular1 attractive.
Having related to
your Lordship
what your Grand Jurors have clone in
the performance of their duties, they
beg to express their gratitude to the
officials of the various institutions,
for their courtesy in assisting us in
our inspection.
We have to thank your Lordship
for your courtesy and your address to
us which was simple and comprehen-
sive. All of which is respectfully
submitted,
ANDREW PORTER, Foreman.

We are so positive that our remedy
will permanently relieve constipation,
no matter how chronic it may be, that
we offer to furnish the medicine at our
expense should it fail to produce satis-
factory results.
It is worse than useless to attempt
to cure constipation with catbattic
drugs. Laxatives or cathartics do
much harm. Theycause a reaction
irritate, and weakn the bowels and
tend to make constipation more
chronic. Besides, their use becomes
a habit that is dangerous.
Constipation is caused by a Weak-
ness of the nerves and muscles of the
large intestine or descending colon,
To expect permanent relief you must
therefore tone up and strengthen these
organs and restore them to healthier
activity.
We want you to try Rexall Orderlies
on our recommendation. They ate
exceedingly pleasant to take, being
eaten like candy, and are ideal for
children, delicate persons, and old
folks, as well as for the robust. They
act directly 00 the nerves and muscles
of the bowels, They apparently have
a neutral action on other associate
organs or glands. They do not purge,
cense excessive looseness, nor create
any inconvenience whatever. They
may be taken at any time, day or
night. They will positively relieve
chronic ,or habitual constipation, if
not of surgical variety, andthe
myriads of associate or dependentent
chl'otll ailments if taken with regu-
larity for aa reasonable length of time

CURED OF CONSTIPATON
Mr. Andrews praises Dr.
Morse's Indian Root Pills.
Mr. George Andrews of Halifax, N.S.,
writes:
Por many years I have been troubled
with chronic Constipation. Th
Ls ail-

mens never conies single-handed,
vand I
have been a victim t4 the many illnesses
that constipation brings in its train.
Medicine after medicine I have taken in
order to find relief, but one and all left
me in tl'. smile Hopeless condition. It
seemed test nothing would expel from -
me the one ailment that caused so much
trouble, yet at last I read about these
Indian Root Piles.
That was indeed a lucky day for me,
for I was so impressed with the state-
ments made that I determined to
give ,them a fair trial.
They have regulated my stomach and
bowels. I am cured of constipation, and
I claim they have no equal as a medi-
ate."
For over half a century Dr. Morse's
Indian Root Pills have been curing con-
stipation and clogged, inactive kidneys,
with all the ailments which result from
them. They cleanse the . whole system
and purify the blood. Sold .everywhere
