Mrs. Wright and son, Wilfrid, of
Clifford, have spent the last week at
the home of Mrs. Lewis. --Much
empathy is expressed for ,Daniel and
Mrs. McTavish, of Howick, in the
death of their onlysou, Peter, which
mitered Thursday of last week. The
little fellow, who was in his 5th year,
had been playing around as usual and
was apparently in the best of health
the evening previous to his death.
He took sick during Wednesday night
and passed away the following morn-
ing. The funeral took place to the
Wroxeter cemetery on Saturday
afternoon, service' being conducted by
Rev. L. Perrin. -Rev. Mr. Condoll, of
Bayfield, preached to the Episcopal
Church on Sunday afternoon. J. R.
and Mrs. Wendt spent Sunday with
relatives in Mildmay. -Harry and
Mrs: Brawn were guests of friends in
Lakeiet on Monday. -Miss Jeannette
Black is spendingafew days in Hartle -
ton. -Alis. Milligan and grauddaugh-
ten, Ina, were visitors iu Clifford

con., received word from his sister,
Mrs. Champ, of Wessington Springs,
Sauth Dakota, that his mother died
onAlay 2nd, aged 85 years. The old
lady lived with Mrs. Champ. Mr.
Rands died some years ago. They
were former residents of Morris town-
ship and will be remembered by the
olden people.

Agnes Turnbull, relict of the late
Adam Knox, passed away at her
h(nne;,Lot 9. Con. 16, after a lengthen-
ed illness 'of aboet II years, in her 69th
year. The cause of her demise was
oanrer, which at bines caused her
great suffering, all of which she bore
most patiently and resignediy. Do-
ceased was bora in Roxboro'shti e,
Scotland, and came to •Ganacla in 1861.
She was united in mart'iage ill 1800 to
Adam Knox, tvho predeceased her 28
years ago and is buried in the Wroxe-'
ter cemetery,. the family living in
Novick township at the Bute. The
iarviving children aro Wm. and Thos.,
