Aero AGOIDENT.—The Sentinel, of
Lucknow of last week says :—When
Lepard's auto (from Wingham) with
four persons aboard, was corning
down the boundary 'West, toward
Luoknow, last Friday night, it sudden-
ly plunged into and over a heap of
gravel or some earthly obstruction on
the road. The paasenger8 received a
tremendous shaking up.one of them,
a traveller, being narly bounce
through the hood, and ono other being
injured by the breaking of the glass
wind -shield in the front. We under-
stand that Geo. Spotton was one of
the number, but kept his end of the
car safely down. As the hour was
abort 10 o'clock p. m., the natural
light would not be of the best but
information we have -received is to
the effect that the cause of the acci-
dentas such
w as should not have
been there.

The electric Light Company have
extended the time of the nightservice
until one o'clock.
The prospects are that a large num-
ber of horses will be here for the fall
races on Thanksgiving Day.

accident on Tuesday morningof last

der picking apples from a tree, when
the ladder slipped and he fell to the

will be held on the previous Sabbath

The weather was delightful and the

by Rev. Smith, of Hensakl ; Rev. Mr.

Murdie, of Seaforth. The musical
part of the program was furnished
by the Maple Leaf orchestra of
Seaforth, while Mrs. McGuire, also of
Seaforth, gave several solos, and in
company with W. Bright, a duet.

Roxboro, each gave a solo.

scheme was discussed at apublic meet-

Monday of • last week Albert F.
Ament passed away after au illness of
over two years. Last Spring he was
removed from Henson, where be bad
been residing, to Listowel, and had
since occupied a tent on his brother
Andrew's property, Main street east,
his illness having developed into lung
trouble. He leaves a wife but no
children, his faithful companion hav-
ing nursed him to the end. The
funeral took place on Thursday morn-
ing to the R. 0. cemetery.

and pleasure trip to the Old Country.
He expects to be away five or six

buggy near the Commercial Hotel
and landed on his head and shoulder.
He has been under the doctor's care
and for several days there was not
much hope for his 'recovery. The
horse took fright at an auto.
Two new inmates were received last
week at the House of Refuge
from Blyth, they being the
Misses Armour aged 56 years and 57
years. Ontario street Methodist choir
visited the Institution on Sunday and
gave a song service, which was much

A change has occurred in the village
by the purchase of Dr. MacOallum's
practice by Dr, Duncan Allison, of
Belgrave. Dr. Ma:Callum has been
in the village for 12 year's and has had
throughout these years a very suc-
cessful practice. Dr. Allison comes
very well recormnended. He is a
graduate of

has had two years experience in medi-
cal woxk in Ontario since his gradua-
tion. Dr. and bars. Allison arrived
last week and will occupy Miss
