DROPS • DEAD.—Death game with
terrible suddenness to Andrew Mason,
a pronlisiug young lean of this town,
on Sunday afternoon of last week.
He was attending the funeral of the
late Samuel Gray at Fairview tem-
eteiy and while standing in the snow
during the service at the grave, he
was noticed to fall backwards, and
when picked up almost immediately
afterivards it was found that life had
almost fled. Efforts were made tore-
vive him and he was hastily' taken to
the home of his parents, AN -ratter and
Mrs. Mason, and a physician summon
ed but without avail, death having
taken place dome lima before. It is
supposed that his sudden taking off
was clue to therupture of a blood
vessel, although he had been subject
to occasional weak spells. In falling,
one of the unfortunate young man's
legs was fracturedthe ankle. The
sudden and altogether unlooked for
bereavement evoked the deepest
sympathy n
four citizen
s and the
funeral which took place on Tuesday
afternoon was largely attended and
Many floral offerings were sent in.
