Fifty years of happy life is an honor, that but few people are 'privileged to enjoy and receive the cougzatula- tioos of their children, grandchildren, relatives and neighbors on such an auspicious occasion. Until such time as the bar is abolished it recommends : rhat full. advantage should be.taken, ,when practic. The committee after wide gathering of evidence from tile different proviuces of the Dominion, report that the Scott Act has worked out success- fully in the Maritime Provinces' Rs has Local Option in Ontario. METHODIST The report on Temperance adopted' at the last session of the Methodist General Conference was a forceful document, of following i S a art: which the g only P ne r c is a business liquor nor Calfa That the q antagonistic to every interest of the Church and State. That:we condemn the. license features of all statutes by which money is accepted for the legal'protec- tion of an immoral traffic.
