The Council at its meeting on Nine -
day night of last week decided to pro-
med. with the erection of a permanent
and substantial building at the power
station for housing coal. The walls
will be built of red brick to correspond
with the present building, with con-
crete foundation and fiooriug. It will
be one storey high, with felt and
gravel roof and will bo about 40 feet
front and the depth of the present
building and will be of sufficient ca-
pacity to hold from 6 to 8 cats of coal,
besides providing storage room for oil.
W. E. Binning prepared the plans and
S. E. Perry has secured the contract
at $1,075.

Thursday of last week, Thos. Mc-
Kenzie, the well known contractor, of
Clinton, secured the contract for the
building of the new Catholic church at
St. Colnnlban. The church will be
built of reel brick and will be 110 feet
by 80 feet. Work commenced on
Monday.
