the post office department for estab-
lishing a free mail delivery between
Listowel and Molesworth. Some of the
boxes are now up and the delivery is
expected to start in a few days. The

Word has been received from Mrs.
Wrn. Arden, who went West a few
weeks ago. She has been in Win-
nipeg with her daughters, Carrie and

Miss Squires, daughter of S. Squires,
who was ill in Toronto, has reached
home accompanied by a nurse and un-
derwent an operation. The operation
was a critical one, being the removal
Of a tumor of abnormal size.

The first of the King Edward rural
free mail delivery boxes arrived on
Wednesday unorning of last week.
They are for the patrons along the
Seafo'tb—Han'lock route, This route
will be pot in operation as soon
as the boxes have been received and
put in place by the patrons. The box-
es are very neat and convenient and
have the patrons' names clearly stencil-
led on the. stele. This route will be
known as Rural Route No. 1.

ment as assistant, house surgeon in the
Protestant and General Hospital,
Ottawa and will assume his duties on

RnsT.—Rev. George Buggin a retired
minister of the Methodist church died
Thursday morning of last week aged
77 years, from heart failure, following
a brief attack of gastritis, Ile retired
here two years ago after a period of
4'7 years spent in the ministry. Of his
family, his wife, three sons and three
slaughters survive. Rev. Mr. Buggin
began his ministry with the New Oou-
nexiolMethorlist• church in 1800 and
enuring his 47 years of work was
stationed on the following circuits
Durham, Nelson, Osnenee, Manvers,
Waterford, London, (Clarence street
New Connexion its last pastor), Sea -
forth, Mount Forest, Elora, Drayton,
Maskdale, Harrow, Blyth, iVallace-
burg, Brownsville, Avon and Thedford.
At the time of the union of the various
Methodist bodies in 1874, Rev. Mr.
Buggin was pastor of the Clarence
Street New Connexion Methodist
church du Loudon, Following the
union this congregation was merged
into Wellington Street Methodist
church. Rev. Air. Buggin was super-
annuated in 1006 and then took up his
residence in Seaforth near his daugh-
ter, Mrs. las. Beattie, where be bas
since resided. Had Rev, Mr. Buggin
lived of next Conference be would
have been one of the group of seven
veterans to celebrate their jubilee ttx
the ministry. He was a good preach-
er, a faithful pastor and had friends
by the thousands. Since his superan-
nuation he has been kept busy by sup-
plying pulpits. He was ever ready to
lend a helping hand and his services
were most acceptable wherever he
went. His death came as a great sur-
prise.
