George Buggin a retired minister of the Methodist church died Thursday morning of last week aged 77 years, from heart failure, following a brief attack of gastritis, Ile retired here two years ago after a period of 4'7 years spent in the ministry. Of his family, his wife, three sons and three slaughters survive. Rev. Mr. Buggin began his ministry with the New Oou- nexiolMethorlist• church in 1800 and enuring his 47 years of work was stationed on the following circuits Durham, Nelson, Osnenee, Manvers, Waterford, London, (Clarence street New Connexion its last pastor), Sea - forth, Mount Forest, Elora, Drayton, Maskdale, Harrow, Blyth, iVallace- burg, Brownsville, Avon and Thedford. At the time of the union of the various Methodist bodies in 1874, Rev. Mr. Buggin was pastor of the Clarence Street New Connexion Methodist church du Loudon, Following the union this congregation was merged into Wellington Street Methodist church. Rev. Air. Buggin was super- annuated in 1006 and then took up his residence in Seaforth near his daugh- ter, Mrs. las. Beattie, where be bas since resided. He was a good preach- er, a faithful pastor and had friends by the thousands. Since his superan- nuation he has been kept busy by sup- plying pulpits. P., returned home £ecus the West last week. He reports crop prospects as very bright in the West. If nothing comes to spoil the wheat there will be a bumper crop. A heavy work house, owned by J. A, MeLean was drowned in the upper pond. The animal in some way got into the pond and while it swam for a considerable distance it was not able to get back to the bank of the river. The horse was blind. The G. T. Geo. (line, of town, attended the funeral of his step -mother in Oakville.
