MAY WEATHER.- A regular Storm Period will be in force from the rsth to the 2oth, having its centre on the 18th. The Moon's passage over the celestial equator ou the Isth, so near its perigee on the 16th, and new on the roth, will hasten storm conditions at this time. Sudden change to very warm will ap. pear westward on the isth, attended by falling barometer and other decided indications of coming storms. These conditions will widen in extent and grow more intense as they move East- ward, causing a series of heavy rain, wind and thunder storms from about the 16th to 2oth. There are no abnor- mal reasons to apprehend dangerous storms at this time, and yet tornadses are entirely possible, Those who ob- serve with any degree of care will read• ily foresee any such danger, Heat, humidity and low barometer always precede dangerous storm, and for many hours in advance all these conditions are manifest. Even the birds and beasts shove that they experience bodily dis- cetnfort with instincts of approaching danger. With a reliable Barometer and Hygrometer to consult, such a thing as being surprised by a tornado, or other Violent storms, is simply an impossibil- ity. These faithful instruments always give timely warumg. and no home or public building should be unprovided with them. Another probable seismic period lies about the lath to the Met, central on the leith. Change to higher barometer and much cooler will be natural from about the 2oth to the 2ard, the change of course, passing pro. gressively from WeSt to East, carrying with it fair and clearing weather, The Metropolitan Bank Capital paid up Poeervo Ftind and Undivided Profits Head office : Toronto $1,000,000,00 $1,2110904.40 Every Department of Banking conducted with satisfac. tion and absolute security, Savings department $1,00 OR MORE OPENS .4N ACCOUNT' Prompt and courteous attention extended to all.
