TAX COLLECTOR•
74 YEARS OLD
01,4101111941141.44104.0.1141.
Expected to Resign on Account
of . Feebleness - Gained
Strength and Twenty-four
Pounds by Taking Vinol,
Cerinth, Mies.: "I tan a city tax
collector and aeventy-four years of age.
I was in a weak, run-down condition so
thet I became exhausted by every little
exertion, My druggist told me about
Vint'', and I decided to take it. In a
week I noticed considerable improve -
;
tent; I continued jt e use and now I
have gained twenty pounds „in weight,
and feel much etronger. I consider
Vinol fine tonic to create strength for
old people." -J. A, PRICE, Corinth,
'
Mho.
As ona grows old] their organs act
more slowly and less effectually than in
youth, circulation is poor, the blood
gets thin, the appetite poor and diges-
tion weak. Vinol, our delicious cod liver
and iron tonic, is the ideal strengthener
and body builder for old folks because
it creates a good healthyappetite,
strengthens digestion, enriches the
blood, improves circulation and in this
natural manner builds up, strengthens
and invigorates feeble, run-down, nerv-
ous and aged people and if it does not do
all •we say, we will pay back your
money.
The Need of
Greater
ow. orm•more,..
Production
(Continued from page 1)
The need of supplying the farmer
with information that will enable him
to distribute and market hie products
to the beet advantage, is becoming m
more and ore urgent. The Canadian
Minister of Agriculture recently put
the matter in this form ;
"It is not, therefore, only greater
production, but better production and
cheapened production, more accurate
knowledge of markets and better faci-
lities for reaching them, All these
things are tied up together, and it is
to these things that not only farmere
but Governments, bankers and trans-
portation men have to &Address them-
selvee."
A'clearer understanding of some of
the handicaps retarding production
will be one of the good results that
must grow out of the present cam-
paign.
But let not the farmer stay his band
because these and other defects in the
been
you,
economic system tui,ve not yet
remedied, Your country neede
and neede you now.
The loyalty and patriotism of the
fanner has never been called into
question. He has the opportunity be-
fore him to, give expression to his
patriotism by helping to keep up the
food supply of Britain and her Allies.
There is a higher motive than that of
the pocket merely, and it should be a
stronger one.
At the same time the business as-
pect must be recognized. With a food
shortage staring it, in the face, the
t)
world is ready to absenat good
pricee all we can produce.
The main object of the campaign is
to make clear the situation.
There is no morer eeasonable body to
deal with than the farMers. Lay the
facts before them 'clearly and fully
and they may be reliedana to reach a
correct decieion.
There is no nedessity for calling up-
on the farmer to work harder or for
longer hours, Neither is it advit.abl,
to dictate to him as to v, hat he shou'd
produce nor hew he should produce if.
The individual farmer must decide for
himself how beet to meet. the demand.
We see, the qiiestion asked, and ask-
ed too by agricultural journals, How
can the farrr,er increase the output
without putting more acres under
cultivation and employing snore label?

That production may to acme extent
be incre,ased without a corremponding
increase lo labor is clearly Indicated.
The best ermine of seed will give
larger yields tbmi inferior kinds. A
strain suited to the eon and climate
and sown at the right time will give
better returns than eeedthat la not,
Pare Seed, plump eeed, seed of etron8
vitality, will increase the yield. These
and other important principles are not
as widely applied as they might be,
There is an appalling and almost
insiversal waste in the handling of li-
quid and oolid manure in thie country.
Rectify this and restore to the soil the
elemente of fertility now lost through
lack of care, and production may be
increased Without any appreciable in.
crease in labor.
If the facto of the Cale indicate it,
as we believe they do, then the fann-
er le warranted in employing more
labor, provided suitable labor can be
secured; he is warranted in preparing
his land better, sowing his seed better,
and in this maimer doing what he can
to meet the Empire's needs. The
man who falls in his duty in the. coon -
try's crisis, will regret it alr his days.
