FOlt1)N'1CH,
Our worthy citizen, Mr. David Mc-
Laughlin, of this village, departed this
life very suddenly and unexpectedly on
Sunday July 20th. He had not been en-
joying robust health for some time, but
on the morning of his death felt better
than usual. He was sitting outside
reading when his wife left him to go
to church. When she returned he was
sitting in exaztly the some position, but
life was extinct, he having passed away
as if in sleep and without a struggle.
Death was due to heart failure. Mr Mc-
Laughlin was aged 09 years and 7 months.
He was a man of more than ordinary
intelligence and sound judgment, and
was much and deservedly respected by
all who knew him. The remains were
interred in Brussels cemetery.

SAVESTOOK MARKETS
Toronto, July 2'i -Congestion of sup-
ply, with very little demand at the City
Cattle Market led to a drop of a dollar
in many prices.
The whole tone is decidedly lower
than last week, and features a dull
market, very little demand being in
evidence, and prices are therefore in-
consistent.
Yearling sheep offer from $1.75 to
$5.50, against last week's $5.511 and $6,
and a difference of $8 is noted in price
of best springers, the finest going now
for $75.
Butcher cows are bringing in $4.50 to
$5, and sales are more active in that
line than in others.
There will be a large supply at the
Soock Yards to -morrow, and prices are
expected to rangy considerably lower.
The heat is accountable for some of the
reduction in prices. and as a whole the
market is dull, with practically no de-
mand.
