--Fire in a heap of driftwood near
111r. Wn'i. Gannett's barn gave the fire-
men a run about five o'clock on Monday
afternoon. The fire ran along the
ground and fence until it came daner-
o,tsly near the barn. The fire was soon
put out with no damage to property.
—The Wingham Citizen's Band gave
a very good concert at the park on
Friday evening. Owing to the hard
day ahead -of thein on the 12th, the
Hand was much below its ustea.1 strength
tut did good 'work nevertheless. The
picogram was nicely varied and some of
tine piece=s new to thebandsmen. Much
of the program was lost to the large
nulierce on account of the noise made
b y the children running around uneheek-
ed. They should be made play at a dis-
tanee which will not spoil the concert to
1those Ivlxo go to enjoy it. One of the
entstending features was the excellent
elarinetplying of the new leader. It
as to bo hoped the band will make good
progress under his direction. .
