See his advt. in another col- umn. -At Lucknow on Monday, William Lemon appeared before Reeve Murdoch and Magistrate Davidson on a charge of being intoxicated in local option terri- tory. A fine of $20 and costs of $6 was imbosed. -At the meeting of Wingham Coun- cil, Canadian Order of Chosen Friends, on Monday evening, Mr. W. H. Willis was elected as Financial Secretary in place of Mr. A. Ross, who intends leav- ing Wingham. COAL. -We are prepared to receive your spring order for best D.L.&W. Mr Vannor- man sued for $100.00 balance claimed to be due on sewer contract. The Judge gives Mr. Vannorman $74.52 and costs. -The first game of football in the Hough cup series was played in Wing - ham on Saturday between the teams of the Listowel and Wingham High Schools. visitorsn The 66.5 by a score of 1 to 0. AND WHEREAS the total amount re- quired by the Municipal Act to be raised an- nually by special rate f or paying the said debt aid interest as hereinafter provided. 18 $325.26. AND WHEREAS the amount of the whole rateable property of the Town of Wingham, according to the last revised assessment roll thereof, is 0004,098 00. AND WHEREAS the amount of the exist- ing debenture debt of the said Municipality, exclusive of local improvement debts secured by special rates and assessments, is $147.253 04, whereof there is nothing in arrears for princi- pal or interest. Therefore the Municipal Corporation of the Town or Wingham enacts as follows: - 1 The Municipal Council of the said Town of Wingham shall exp'nd the sum of $5000.00, in addition to the sum of $6000.00 already 'provid- ed as hereinbefore set out,'in improving the present waterworks system of the said Town, and in procuring pure water for domestic pur- poses: and for the purpose of raising the said eum, debentures of said Town to the arnount of $5000.00 as aforesaid in sums of not less than $100 00 each shall be issued on the First day of August. A. D., 101e: each of which debentures shall be dated on the date of the issue thereof and shall be payable within thirty years there - atter at the office of tho Treasurer for the time being of the said %own of Wingham 2. Each of said debentures shall be signed by the Mayor of the said Town of Wingbam, or by some other person authorized by By -Law to sign the same and, by the Treasurer. there- ef, and the Clerk shall stir eb thereto the Cor- porate Seal of the Mneieipality 3.
