Division Court as held in Wingham,
on Friday last wit Judge Holt presid-
ing. A number f cases were heard
and the court wa in session all day.
The case of Gra, , Young & Sperling
Co. against the ('or oration of Wingham
in which the Corp ation was being sued
for $50.76 being f r balance claimed to
be due on rental drilling machinery.
The plaintiff wer awarded $3.13 with-
out costs. The se of V. R. VanNor-
man against the orporation of Wing -
ham, being on a tion for $100.00 being
balance claimed o be due on sewer con-
tract. This cas took all afternoon and
was completed except for the argu-
ments by Coun 1. Several other cases

Death of Pionee Teacher.
Mr. B. Rothwell, •r many years
Principal of the Listoe el Public School,
died at his home in thtown on Satur-
day last in his 78th yea . The deceased
gentleman taught scho,Iin Listowel for
upwards of forty years He was a man
of many fine qualities , nd his words of
advice will not soon b, forgotten by the
large number of stu ents who passed
through the school dur ng his time in the
Principalship. The e+itor of the Tiaras
spent one term in t e Listowel school
under Mr. Rothwell . nd has always had
a very frien':ly feeli g for his old teach-
er and friend. Mr. ' othwell knew Lis-
towel from the ea y days of the log
school house. He ill be much missed
in the town in whic he had set I re-
sided.

nosh. Mr. Morrow died upwards of
thirty-five years age and nearly twenty-

moved to Wingham, residing here up to
the time of her de, h. Mrs. Morrow
was held in high e teem by a large
circle of friends. .' le was a member
of St. Andrew's esbyterian Church
and faithful in her ttendance at public
worship as lona: as er health permitted.
Mrs. Morrow is s ,'wired by one son.
Mr. A. A. Morrow of Vancouver, B.C.,
who arrived home a short time prior to
his mother's drat The funeral took
place on Monday ternoon, the services
being conducted , Rev. D. Perrie. In-
terment was mad in the family plot in
