McGee & Campbell EAST IN 4VI' ANOSH There died at the home of the par- ents, lot 37, con. 2, Margaret Jane Pat- terson, beloved wife of .Sr. Throes nus Henry Jackson, of Wiwa-hill, Sask. after an illness: covering but thre e wet ks from pulmonary trouble. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Patterson, of Last Wawanosh, and was born in that township in the year tats; and had resided there all her iife, She was married on Christmas day lest to Mr. Thomas H. Jackson, an.I it was their intentions to have left for their home in Saskatchewan when she was stricken ill. Deceasad was of a kind, loving and joyial disposition and had many warm friends who deeply regret her demise. The late Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Presbyterian church and took considerable interest in church work. V ULROSM. Council met in the Town Hall, Tees - water, March 3rd. Members all pres- ent. Minutes of last were read and sustained. Armstrong -Thompson -That the rate for Statute labor be put at one dollar per day and that a By-law be drawn up and passed for that purpose. Carried. Thompson -Case -That as the Grader is not in very good condition that we ap- point Jas. Donaldson and Jno. S. Arm- strong to look it carefully over and have it repaired and to keep it in re- pairs for 1913. Carried, Armstrong Donaldson -That we ap- point the last year's inspectors for sheep killed by dogs for 1913 and that a By-law be prepared and passed for their appointment, Carried. Donaldson -Thompson -That the pound keepers and fenceviewers for 1912 be reappointed for 1913 and that a By-law be passed for that purpose, Carried. Armstrong -Donaldson-That we ap- point Wm. Case and Jas. Thompson as a committee to arrange for the Town- ship printingfor the year 1913. Carried. Thompson -Donaldson -That we ap- point Joseph Murray to make and de- liver tile to any part of the Township where required provided that he receiv- es a written notice from the Reeve or any of the Council he to be paid at the same rate as last year and to be paid $2 50 per day for operating Grader and that Jno. S. Armstrong be appointed to go and count the tile on hand and report. Carried, Case -Donaldson -That the finance report as now read be adopted and cheques issued for payment of the ac- counts. While talking with his daughters as they were busy preparing supper Thur- doy evening,Mr. Frank Brown fell over dead from his chair in front of the fire. His daughters heard him fall, and came in from an adjoining room and did ev- erything possible, butdeath had result- ed from an attack of heart failure. Mr. Brown was apparently in his usual health a few minutes before. He leaves five daughters and two sons reside in London, r1anssaaLti. The induction of Rev. YIr. Mann, who has accepted a call to the Presbyterian Church here, will take place Tuesday, March 18, when his pastorate will begin. Mrs. Deadman was called to Toronto on account of the dangerous illness of Mrs. T. McGillicuddy, her sister. The latter's health has been failing for some time. Before George Brown and family re- moved to Toronto a company of friends assembled at the home of W. II. Kerr and presented a Morris chair to Mr. Brown, an oak rocker to Mrs. Brown, and a gold necklace set with pearls to Miss Lizzie. BELGILAVE. The sad news was received here that Donald Robertson, who went West about 15 years ago and whose home was near Hamiota, Man,, was smothered by gas from the coal stove one night recently, His wife is dead and he was living alone. Our popular Veterinary, H. Kirkby, was united in marriage on Monday,Mar. 3rd, to Miss Annie B., second daughter of the late Walter Scott. Only immed- iate friends were in attendance. Rev. Mr. Ferguson tied the bow knot at the bride's home. The clover machine has finished up in our locality and the clover did not turn out very -well this year on account of the wet weather at harvesting time. The local option by-law was sustained at Forest by Judge mac Watt. It is reported that the Canadian Nor- thern Railway's financial undertaking involves a sum in excess of any prev- ious railway financing in Canada.
