Death of Joh Wilson, V. S.
Dr. John Wilson, V. S., who had been
seriously ill for t last few weeks,
passed away on T esday evening in his
55th year. Dr. Wilson was one of
Wingham's most opular and progres-
sive citizens and h - death is deeply re-
gretted. The fune al will be held on
Friday afternoon t Wingham ceme-
tery. Service will e held at the house
at 2 o'clock. A fur her notice of our
departed friend will be given in our
next issue.

There was a very • ood attendance at
the entertainment : yen by the Barnar-
do Boys in the operhouse on Wednes-
day evening of last week. The mus-
ical program given .y the boys under
the direction of thei musical instruct-

iety of instruments, such as handbells,
xylophones, ocarina , bagpipes, mando-

County C ncil Business.
At the County ouncil meeting last
week the grant to hospitals in the
County was increased from $600.00 to
$7011.00 to be dive ed between the hos-
pitals in Goderich Wingham and Clin-
ton. The special rant of $500.00 each
to the four High chools of the county
was continued. The County Counci
will proceed with the work of repairing
bridges and raisi g their portion of the
road south of ingham. When the
municipalities of lorris and East Wa-
wanosh have ma e the road 20 feet
wide and raised i • 3 feet, the County
Council will pay t per cent of the cost
of the work. r. W. F. VanStone
was re -appointed as a member of the
Wingham High chool Board and J. C.
Smith, B. A. was again appointed as
one of the Count Examiners.
