I have 175,000 acres of the finest wheat land•in
the world. I am going to sell a' part of it quick, at
low prices,, to advertise the district, and to the first
homeseekers or investors who write me, I am going
to make the niOst remarkable land proposition ever
known. The price is so low that the first year's
wheat crop will, in all probability, pay back the en-
tire cost of the land -and payments se easy that you
will•scarcely miss the money. These farms are right

Death Came First.

Why Keep Poor Cows ?
It has been stated on good authority
that the average yield of 17,000 cows
in the famous Belleville, Ont., section
for the factory season of 3910 was
3,480 pounds of milk. There are
sections, where it is doubtful if the
average is much over 2,500 pounds.
The average income per cow in con-
nection with one creamery was only
$19.00, As some patrons obtained
as much as $3100 per cow, it means
necessarily that some cows earned
scarcely $15 00. Some primary prin-
ciples of dairy farming seem to need
attention here. Records of each cow's
production will soon show which cows
should be beefed because unprofitable.
Two good records near Winchester,
Ont., for January, February and
March aro 5,725 and 0,570 pounds of
milk from two cows that freshened in
December. Such cows, sources of
keen pleasure and good profit, are
found in increasing numbers where
cow testing is practised. Plenty of
individual cotes in Canada are giving
10,000 and 12,000 pounds of milk and
from 300 to 400 pounds of fat in one
season. Why keep poor cows?
A Give Away.
A certain lady ono Sunday indneed
her husband, who was not a regular
church goer, to accompany' her to the
evening service. During the sermon
he fell asleep, snoring at first softly,
and at length so noisly that the good
lady was constrained to give hitn a
sharp nudge in the hope of rousing
him. To her consternation, however,
as he slowly awakened, he exclaimed
In a loud voice -'•Let me alone ! Get
up and light the fire yourself, it's your
turn."
Death In Kincardine.
Joseph Abell of Kincardine, weIl-
known in this district, died on April
29, aged 09. Ho was a man of genial
qualities and kindly nature made him
ever willing and, obliging even at I.
times to the detriment of his own
personal interests. He was an exceed-
ingly prominent Orangeman, having O
been a charter member of L.O.L. 288,
and later a member of No. 705. Ile
was master of both lodges, served as
district master and bad the honour of
being county roaster of West Bruce.
All his life he has been a member of •
the Anglican church and at the time
of his death' was a member of the
Church of Messiah, He had an abid-
ing Christian faith, which remained
clear to the end. His death will be
deeply regretted by a large circle of
friends, and his sturdy hustling figure
will be missed on the streets of Kin-
cardine,

`Two Howick Deaths.
The Fordwich Record reports the
following :-On Wednesday evening,
May 3rd, at 9 a.m., Mrs. Joseph Hain -
stock passed to the Great Beyond,
aged 49 years, 5 months and 28 days.
She has been a patient sufferer for
nearly four years. ...Death came to
Robert Milton Gibson, Fordwieh, on
Sunday morning, April 30th. He had
been suffering with lung trouble for
several months, but he was not
thought to be in any immediate dan-
ger. He had gone to bed, after sitting
up for a short time, when without a
moment's warning, he passed away.
Death was due to heart failure. The
deceased was in his 24th year and only
a few years ago he was married to
Matilda '] ilker, whom he leaves with
two small children, to mourn his
loss.
Mow To Stop
Stubborn Cough
litre don't mean just stop the irri-
tation in your throat ---but cure the
underlying cause. ,
Cough syrups cannot do this, It
takes a constitutional tonic body
builder to do the work properly -
and cure you to stay cured. Vino1
is the remedy you need.
IIEItE 18 1'11001'
Mrs. Minnie Osgood, of Glens Valls,
N. F., writes:*" After trying Several rem.
ediea for a bad cough and cold without
benefit, t was asked "to try 'Vivol. It
worked like Magic. It cured my cold
and cough rind I gained. In health and
strength. I consider 'Vivol the moist
reenderfut tonic and Invigorator I oTbr
saw.
If we cannot stop that cough
with VINOL-our delicious cod
liver and iron tonic -which is made
without oil ----we will not charge
you a cent for the medicine you
buy. This seems like a pretty fair
proposition- and ought to be ac-
cepted. Don't you think so? With
this understanding. we ask you to
try a bottle of VINOL.
