The London area off ic� requires a mature and highly-moti-
voted individual for thr/;position of field worker. Applicants
must have proven verbal and written communication skills
and ability to interpret and explain legislation in order to
assume the duties of interviewing applicants or recipients of
provincial family benefits and other ministry programs, con-
ducting investigations, maintaining case records and prepar-
ing various activity reports. To service the assigned case load
effectively the incumbent must possess initiative, sound or-
ganizational skills and be detail oriented. A working know-
ledge of community services is required in order to provide
recipients with practical information on budgeting, housing
and other identified needs. Location Is the Wingham local
office.
QUALIRCATIONS are a detailed knowledge or a demonstrat-
ed ability to acquire a detailed knowledge of_ family benefits
and rolatod legislation. A demonstrated understanding of fin-
ancial transactions such as mortgages, insurance policies, etc.
The ability to organize, priorizo and manage a large pace load.
The ability to work under the pressure of various deadlines and
to work both independently and as a member of a team. Work-
ing knowledge of community social service agencies. The pos-
session of a valid Ontario driver's licence is essential. In pre-
paration for the de -centralization of the Income maintenance
programs to the area office, candidates will also be assessed
on their ability to make decisions and to calculate accurately
allowance changes (is: arrears and overpayments).
