THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSW OF TURNEERRY
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of
Turnimrry proposes to pass a by-law pursuant to the provisions of The
Municipal Act, R.S.O., 1970, Chapter 284, Section 443, for stopping up,
closing and selling portions of Alice and John Streets M the Town Plot
of Winghom, Government Survey, in the Township of Turnberry, in the
County of Huron, more porticularly described in Schedules "A" and
' B" attached hereto;
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Rewe and the Clerk will be
authorized to sign and execute the necessary documents in order to
'effect the closing and the sale thereof;
AND FURTHER TAKE HOME that the Council shall hear in person or
by his Counsel, Solicitor, Agent or any person who claims that his lard
will be prejudicially affected by the by-law and who applies to be
heard at the regular meeting of Council on September 18th, 1979;
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the proposed by-law may be ex-
amined by all persons interested at the office of the Clerk of the
Township of Turrtberry, during business hours, at any time, before

museum, they were delivered to
the different areas of interest by
tractor and wagon. A luncheon of
salads was served by the Scotch
Block Institute of Ligny Hall,
Milton, where Mrs. David
Lockie's mother is a member.
Following the tour, the
members held a short meeting in

Women's Institutes. An invitation

attend its 80th anniversary

Coaching for the boy and girl
plowmen will start at 9:30 a.m.
Aug. 31. Ray Montague, chief
judge of the Ontario Plowmen's
Association, and his assistant
will be on hand to give advice on
the fine points of match plowing,
especially to those learning to
plow.
Anyone who plows would be
well advised to take the day off to
attend the coaching in the
morning and the junior match
plowing in the afternoon and see
firsthand the proper way to
adjust a plow to turn the best
furrow.
The regular match will get
underway at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 1,
with 11 classes including Queen
of the Furrow competing for
prizes in cash, goods and
trophies, valued at a total of
about $4,000.
A horse shoe pitching contest
with two classes; one for Huron
players and the other for all
comers, will be held as well as a
nail driving contest with men's
and ladies' classes. Log sawing
contests will be held in two
classes, one with contestants
using their own crosscut saws
and the other with everyone
usirig the same saw.
