Sisters Rhonda, Judith, Karen and Janice out - danced, in the eyes of the judges, the highly -acclaimed Black Magic step dancers from Lon- desboro, who were also in the competition at the town hall Thursday. Later in the show Janice McMichael, the oldest of the sisters, danced solo and won the hearts of the judges and organizers with her dance. She was also named one of the first show's three winners. Organizers enjoyed her dance so much they asked for an encore, which she performed at the end of the show. The third winner of the contest was the Howick Central Ukelele Band, a group of about 30 grade six, seven and eight students at Howick Central. The big band filled the upstairs theatre at the town hall with sound and though most groups performed just one number the band was allowed two because it had taken so much work to set the to f th b d her winning act. The Fishers, made up of three families from the Clifford area, sang two songs with the accompaniment of a piano. Janice Vernon of Brussels played the piano and Sandy Jennings followed with a guitar 1 Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bone and Allison of Burlington spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. R. Anyone wishing to enter the second, show April 26 or the third show May 31 can contact him, as there are still a few openings each night. 54th anniversary BELGRAVE — A surprise party was held on Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rath in honor of their 54th wedding anniversary which falls on April 3, at the home of their daughter and ron- in -law, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Howatt of Londesboro. The whole family was present, along with their 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. All sat down to a sumptuous dinner which was ;, ] by their four daughters and grand- daughters. The cake was made and decorated by Mrs. McVittie of Wingham. The afternoon was y• Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mulvey spent the weekend near Mohawk. A sendoff party was held for Mr. and Mrs. George Nickel recently before moving to Teeswater. Their son, Doug, was married to Diane McKee on Saturday. Winners of a curling bonspiel held in Belmore were Bob Martin, Betty Haelzle, Shirley Weishar and Joyce Fitch. The second winners were Mildred Dickson, Harry Mulvey, Janice Wright and Ed Haelzle. The Teeswater Intermediate hockey team sponsored a dance at the Belmore Arena on Saturday night. The Belmore Midgets played an exhibition game against Teeswater, with Teeswater winning 6-5. In playoff action, the Midgets are competing against Kurtzville in the finals. On Friday,'' jA`. VA exciting game, Belmore won 5-4.
