She was the former Mabel Wood and was born in Howick Township on June 17, 1908, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Wood. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Earl Toner of Gorrie; one brother, Robert Wood, Clifford; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Gorrie United Church. The late Mrs. Toner rested at the Davidson Funeral Home, Gorrie, until Wed- nesday when removal was made to Gorrie United Church for service at two o'clock. Spring interment will take place in Gorrie Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Koch, Bill Thornton, Russell Powell, Wilfred Gregory, Ivan Haskins and Ray Gowdy. `Special thanks to Gordon Con. gram, Ken Foxton, Stu Hollaway, Howard Baker, Ron Foxton, Michael Willie and Larry Zinn for presenting Ted Whitby with, a beautiful barometer upon his re- tirement from the works depart- ment of Wingham.
