Saturday afternoon in the local
park when they defeated Credi-
ton 27-4.
The Wingham team completely
dominated the game from start to
finish. Wingham used three
pitchers in order to give some of
the team members practice. Don
Martin, Joe Tiffin and Bill
Brophy went to the mound.
Ken Deichert filled the cat-
cher's position and was superb,
throwing the first two base run-
ners out at second. A total of 14
Brophy players saw action in this
game.
Steve Morrison had a perfect
day at plate with a triple, a
double and three singles. Extra
base hits were also turned in by
Paul Montgomery with a triple, a
double and single. Danny Martin
had a triple and a double. Ken
Deichert and Peter Goodall both
hit a double and two singles.
The Wingham team has scored
a total of 75 runs in their first four
league games. This speaks highly
of their hitting skills. In addition,
their base stealing, pitching and
all-round play have been excel-
lent.
Next game in the schedule is
against Dashwood, Tuesday,
June 8, followed by two other
games away from Wingham. The
Brophy PeeWees are also entered
into the Red Henry PeeWee
Tournament in Clinton on June 18
and June 19. They should give a
good account of themselves.
