Last Thursday, Grades 6-8
boarded a charter coach and
headed for Midland. Upon
arrival at St. Marie Among
the Hurons, they were
escorted on a guided tour
that was informative and
enriching.
The afternoon was spent at
the Martyr's Shrine where
we had a Mass and a tour of
the church. A walk 'up the
Stations of the Cross and to
Look Out Point followed.
Grades 3-5 traveled to the
African Lion Safari last
Thursday where we had a
unido.A tour of one of the

' After lunch, the Petting
Zoo and the African Queen
riverboat ride were enjoyed.
The students also saw the
Birds of Prey show and the
elephant show.
The nine Grade 8 students,
their parents, teachers and

Mass and graduation dinner
last Tuesday evening. Doug
Cerson won the CWL Award
and Kevin Schmidt was
runner-up. Lori Parker was
varedictorian and gave a
good talk on determination.
JACK KOPAS, guidance counsellor from the F. E.
Madill Secondary School and a member of. Wingham
Town Council, addressed Grade 8 students from
Sacred Heart School at a banquet held for them last
Tuesday evening. Theresa Bowins, religious education
consultant for the Huron -Perth Separate School Board,
also attended the banquet.

Wheeler spent four days on a
tour to Ottawa with the
Lucknow School Grade 8's.
This included a tour of the
Peterborough Locks, the
Parliament Buildings where
the students met and talked
with MP Murray Cardiff,
and several other points of
interest, including Upper
Canada Village and Old Fort
Henry.
Clifford Stewart of Oak-
ville and Jack Stewart, Lon-
don, were in the village on
Sunday visiting former
friends and neighbors.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Walsh
attended the graduation of
their daughter Marni on Fri-
day. June 17, when she re-
ceived her Bachelor of Fine
Arts honors degree from
York University, Toronto. A
reception was held following
the ceremony in the main
foyer of the Fine Arts Centre
and a family dinner at Black.

ding anniversary of their

presentation last Tuesday night at Sacred Heart Church. Nine

Jeffray presided for the June
meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society of Knox
Presbyterian Church held in
the schoolroom of the
church. The meeting opened
with the call to worship, the
singing of "The Church's
One Foundation" and
reading Psalm 90 respon-
sively.
Mrs. John Stokes read the
minutes of the last meeting
and ,the offering was
received and dedicated by
Mrs. Jeffray. Mrs. Don
MacAdam read the 13th
chapter of Paul's first letter
to the Corinthians and used
poems from the South
Pacific as her comment and
prayer.
Mrs. Alvin Mundell
reviewed the history of the
Pacific Conference of
Churches which was con-
stituted in 1966. Its major
programs were compared
with those of the
Presbyterian Church of
Canada and its major ac-
complishments were the
founding of a regional
ecumenical theological
college in Suva and the
preparation of Christian
Education material relevant
to the life and needs of
Pacific people.
The conference's special
priorities at the present time
are spiritual renewal and
deepening of faith, integral
human development and the
participation of women and
youth in church and society.
