beauty of lawn setti
In a pretty lawn setting at
the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William Behrns of RR 1,
Wroxeter, Bonnie Marie
Behrns and Wayne William
Sage of RR 1, Listowel, were
united in the bonds of holy
matrimony. The ceremony
took place, under an arch
decorated with mauve lilacs
and was solemnized by Rev.
Lloyd Martin of Gorrie at
three o'clock on Saturday,
June 4. Pretaped music for
the doubiering ceremony
was provided by Mrs. Hugh
Douglas, RR 1, Gorrie.
The groom is a son of Mr_
and Mrs. Boyne Sage, RR 1,
Listowel.
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride wore a
street -length dress of
champagne beige chiffon
with a ruffles at the neckline,
double ruffles down the
centrefront bodice and long
sleeves_ She wore a corsage
of blue roses and
stephanotis_
The matron of honor was
Mrs_ Bruce Jackson, sister

Belgrave, Darby Vallance

A reception was held at the
Harriston Legion Hall
following the ceremony. Mr_
and Mrs_ Hopper will reside
in Atwood_

Hen on-in-Liife Awards,
stages two and three, were
presented to Boy Scouts
David Currie, Ian Ward,
Andrew Kaufman and
Robert Leedham by Ian
Deislauriers, Scout leader.
As it was the last Sunday for
Sunday School until fall,
memory work awards were
presented to several children
who had made noteworthy
accomplishments in learning
scripture_
At the close of the service,
Mr. Grant presided for the
sacrament of Holy Com-
munion_ tiro meditation was
entitled "'Keeping the Gift
Alive" a ,, ' he stressed the
importance of "'feeding"
one's faith in a variety e
ways so it may retain its
newness and strenglth.

A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents.
The diningroom was
decorated with blue and
white streamers and bells.
Vases of blue roses also
adorned the tables and the
three -tiered wedding cake
centred the bride's table.
The waitresses were Mrs. Iia
Newton, Mrs. Reta Maim
and Mrs. Mary -Bridge
The bride's mother wore a
street -length dress of rose
chiffon with tucks and lace
ruffles on the bodice and long
full sleeves. The groom's
mother chose a street -length
dress of light blue crim-
polene with long sleeves_
Each mother wore an orchid
corsage_
For travelling to the west
coast, the bride wore a pink
and white suit and a heart-
shaped
eartshaped necklace, a gift from
the groom_ On their reti>rn,
they will reside in Listowel_
Honored guests at the
wedding were the couple's
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Behrns and Mrs.
Roy Milier, all of Listowel.

three bridal showers_

Home and school council
holds final meeting until fall
The final meeting of the
season of the Grey, Bruce,
Huron Council of Home and
Schools was held last week at
the home of the past
president, Mrs. Carol
Helfefnsstein, with 11 mem-
bers enjoying an outdoor
Outgoing secretary Liz
Jury gave her final report
and handed the secretarial
duties over the Lorene
Meyer. Tania Gilchrist gave
a final tram's report and
the new treasurer will be
Dianne Murphy. Mrs.
Helfenstein introduced an
agenda for coming year and
offered her assistance to the
new president, Mrs,
Gilchrist.
Lorna McKague was
appointed press secretary
for the council and her duties
will be to report the group's

resume of important events
and activities of the past

Mrs. C. Harris also spoke
on Manitoba's ports, rivers,
festivals and agriculture.

the Peace Gardens in

cut and the hostesses served
sandwiches and cake for
lunch, as old friendships
were renewed during the
social half hour_
