IS HAVING A SPECIAL DAY FOR SENIORS ON MONDAY. JUNE 80TH, FROM 1:30 P.M. TO 4:00 P.M. IN OUR NEW AUDITORIUM. YOU ARE INVITED TO COME AND MEET THE DEPARTMENT HEADS OF HURONVIEW AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT. VARIOUS DI#PLAY B OOTHS, HIGHLIGHTING THE ACTIVITIES IN OUR HOME, WILL BE EXHIBITED. THE RESIDENT'S COUNCIL WILL ALSO HAVE A BOOTH WHERE TEA, COFFEE AND COOKIES WILL B E SERVED. THE RESIDENTS OF HURONVIEW LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU. Grade 13 On Monday, June 6, at 7 p.m. at the Wingham Golf and Curling Club the Grade 13s held their annual ban- quet. The food was excellent and very well -appreciated! The dresses and suits worn by the students were chic, elegant and colorful! After the meal, a program of songs (Brenda Mann, Jen- nifer Drennan, Pan" Shaw and Sheila Anderson; Beth Gingrich; Caroline Mulvey), tap dancing (Karen McMichael and Jacquie Robertson), and step -sisters tap dancing (Murray de Vos, Stewart Cardiff, Allan Eadie and Darryl Holmes) with back-up music played by Ken Deichert, Dale Gilchrist and Al Keiffer was enjoyed by all. Darryl Holmes was master of ceremonies. Gayle and Patty also did their little bit of comedy in the form of a poem and a repertoire of how they de- nquet much enjoyed cided on what they would do for the evening at the ban- quet — remember they were given only five minutes for their little part — this they made sure everyone under- stood! The evening was climaxed by a niggling little speech made by Liz Wilkins. She gave an account of every student graduating from Madill who was present at the banquet, including the teachers present — and Mr. Hawkins who was not present! A dance followed for which the said Mr. Hawkins ap- peared and had several terrific dances with several wonderful Grade 13 girls. With the dance ended, many enjoyed a party at the home of Michelle Thomson — I heard some never went to bed (or home either) but stayed in Bluevale (or Thanks to everyone who helped this year Well, this is supposed to by my teary goodbye but rather than get all choked up over the situation I would just like to thank all those who worked on the School Page (the members), my super supervisor Mrs. Tiffin, my tremendous co-editor Grace Schmidt and my brilliant photographer, Clint Pew - tress. Also Marianne, Valerie, Bonnie, Michelle (who will be next year's editor), Nancy and, I guess WHITECHURCH We are pleased to report that Wallace Milligan has obtained a job at the foun- dry. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gaunt, Jennifer and Graeme of Chatham spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon. On Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft and Karen and Hugh Sinnamon attended the Sinnamon- Nethercott wedding at At- wood United Church. The reception was held • at the Alma Memorial Community Centre. Saturday there was a Beaveree held at the Ben Miller conservation area. Ryan and Jarret Craig from here attended. Faye Irwin had surgery Saturday to put a pin in her leg, following her fall from a horse. The community wishes her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Irwin if Lucknow visited with Faye Irwin Sunday at the Strat- ford hospital. Congratulations to all the Grade 13 pupils who passed their year's work. Sunday guests at the an- niversary service at the United church with Mrs. Agnes. Farrier were Rev. and Mrs. Bill Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie MacDonald and Mr. and Mrs. Art Burrows. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ducharme of Goderich and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Vannus of London were Sunday visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw. We are pleased to report that George Lubbers has Unproved and expects to be back towork this week. Anniversary service at Whitechurch Whitechurch-- The United church here held its 101st anniversary service on Sunday, with guest minister Rev. William Henderson. Special music was provided by Mrs. Agnes Farrier, organist; Mrs. Janet Laidlaw, pianist; Hugh Sinnamon, clarinet; Susan Moss and Kathy McMillan, duet, and Russell McGuire and Jack Whytock, violins. The morning service was held at 11 o'clock, with scripture taken from Psalms and Hebrews. Mr. Whytock and Mr. Sinnamon played a violin and clarinet duet preceding the sermon on "Justifiable Pride". The evening service opened with a violin duet by Mr. McGuire and Mr. Whytock, followed by a hymn by the choir. The sermon was on "Serving Faith". Following the service there was a fellowship hour with refreshments in the Sunday School room. that's all the members. A special thank you goes to Henry Hess and The Wing - ham Advance -Times for do- ing all the work — printing up what the School Page compiles. Thank you very much! I still haven't said goodbye and I will continue not to say it because I hope what I have instigated in the School Page members will show through next year. They are a terrific bunch and all the compli- ments and comments that we received over the year, verify that they are a talented group as well! I hope the school will con- tinue .to support Michelle Hooftman (who is editor next year) and read our column: I hope the public will continue buying the paperjust to read the Madill Mirror! A very warm thank you Mrs. Tiffin and Henry Hess and a glad and optimistic cheer to you Michelle — you've got a lot of work ahead, but it's rewarding. Madill S.S. or live within a five mile radius of Wingham. Any girl who has been first or second runner-up or won the Miss FunFest Beauty Pageant cannot be re-entered. Each contestant will be judged on ability to speak on a subject not chosen by her. They will also be judged on per- sonality, poise and beauty. Entries must be in by July 8, 1983.
