Anita Nixon dies Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Anita Nixon on May 28 in the Con- valescent Home, Winnipeg, widow of the late Harry Nixon. Mrs. Nixon was born in North Wales in 1893,daugh- ter of Griffith and Annie Roberts. She trained as a nurse in St. Thomas' Hospi- tal, London, graduating in 1917. She served as a nursing sister in the First World War in the Royal Medical Corps. Following the war, she emi- grated to Canada where she married Harry Nixon in 1920. She later settled in Winnipeg resuming her nursing career at the General Hospital. Mrs. Nixon was a long- time active member of the Queen Winnipeg Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and of Althea Chapter of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was also an active mem- ber of the Royal United Ser- vices Institute and an active member of the Nursing As- sociation, Winnipeg Branch. She is survived by one sis- ter Mrs. James (Gladys) Vittie of Fordwich, Ont.; two nieces, Mrs. Jean Southern and Mrs. Joan Stewart, both of Fordwich; one nephew Gerald Campbell and his wife Ellen of Burlington, and one nephew in Wales. She was predeceased by three brothers. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 31 at 1 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, Winnipeg with the Rev. T. Hidichuk officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. DEATH DEMARAY—Passed away Sunday, June 12, at Vic- toria Hospital, South Street Campus, London, Mrs. Ila May (Barker) Demaray of Dorchester. She was the beloved wife of Norman Demaray; dear mother of Robert J. Demaray, Dorchester, Maxwell G. Demaray, Brussels, and Norman Keith Demaray, Belmont. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother, Stanley Barker of Mossley. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service was held Tuesday in Dorchester with interment following in Dorchester Union Ceme- tery. I would like to say thank you to all the nurses on OB, Dr. Hanlon, Dr. McGregor during our stay in the Wing - ham and District Hospital.
