`Contrasts
in Concert'
The Blyth Festival Singers
will present 'Contrasts In
Concert' on Sunday, June 12,
3 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Blyth
Memorial Hall.
The choice of repetoire for
this concert is designed to
show the many contrasts in
style and mood available in
choral music. The audience
will identify -with the well-
known songs from Oliver and
the theme from the Broad-
way and movie hit Annie. In
contrast, the choir will per-
form a number of spirituals
as well as folk songs drawn
from Russia, Czechoslovak-
ia, North Carolina, and Nova
Scotia. For fun, the choir will
present a take -off on musical
forms entitled Go For
Baroque. The Festival Sin-
gers are also including in
this concert some of the
audience favorites from
former concerts.
During their three years as
an established choir, the
Festival Singers have built a
reputation in the area for
fine Choral presentations.
'Contrasts In Concert' is the
final concert for this season;
the choir will resume re-
hearsals in September in
Memorial Hall every Wed-
nesday night. New members
are most welcome.
Tickets for this family con-
cert are available at $4
(adults) And $1.50 (children)
from choir members or by
phoning the Box Office at
523-9300 or the Blyth Saga at
523-4331. Refreshments will
follow each performance.
