Apart from pro- viding an exotic display of greenery, this arrangement allows apartment dwellers to cultivate flowers or herbs which would otherwise need a garden. Erect a pair of adjustable shelf standards with brackets (bought from your Home Hard- ware) on the sides of your window -frame. Choose glass shelves to let through as much Iifht as possible to all layers. Make them adjustable to ac- comodate plants of different heights and removeable so the windows and shelves are easy to clean. Remove the hinges and lock from the door. Fill the 4 panels on each side first with the 118" hardboard- Then, glue arid nail-• a door -sized piece to each side of the door. The extra thickness of the door may mean you have to re -hang the door fur- ther away from the door stop by extending the hinge recesses in the door frame. Now - a 1983 door.
