Fred Hyndman of Gorrie
who passed away Monday,
May 23, at Geri -Care,
Harriston. Rev. Lloyd
Martin of Gorrie United
Church conducted the two
o'clock service at the Gorrie
Chapel of M. L. Watts
Funeral Homes. Interment
followed in Gorrie Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronald
and Roland Bennett, Gerald.
Brewer, Clarke and Gerald
Hyndman and Dr. Alex
Strong. Floral tributes were
carried by Paul Voll and

Mrs. Hyndman, the former
Bessie Gowdy, was in her
87th year and is survived by
her husband, Fred of Geri -
Care; two sons, Harold and
Allan; and one daughter,
Mrs. William (Greta)
Bennett, all of Gorrie. Also
surviving are ten grand-
children, and 24 great
grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her parents,
John Gowdy and Jane Nay;
her step -mother, Emma
Vogan; three brothers,
Nelson, Roy and Harry; and
one sister, Mrs. James
(Edith) Doig.
Well-known craftsman
G. Thompson, dies
Goldwyn (Goldie) Thomp-
son, born in Henfryn (Grey
Township) March 28, 1913,
died Wednesday, May 4 at
the Listowel Memorial
Hospital.
He was the son of the late
William Thompson and the
former Mabel Williamson.
He married Gladys Clay-
ton Woods in 1945.
Mr. Thompson owned a
garage in Ethel from 1943 till
1948. Mr. and Mrs. Thomp-
son sold the garage and
bought a farm in 1948 in Grey
Township. They farmed till
1964, sold the farm and
bought a general store in
Gorrie in 1964. They were
store -keepers until 1975.
They then sold the store and
bought a home in Walkerton
where Mr. Thompson was a

crossing guard for three
years. The couple moved to
Listowel in 1981.
He was a member of the*
Listowel Pentecostal
Church.
Mr. Thompson spent many
hours making furniture for
his family and friends. He
was a man well-known for
many trades, mostly his
woodworking.
Mr. Thompson is survived
by his wife the former
Gladys Clayton Woods; one
daughter Mrs. Barry
(Dianne) Jones of Grimsby;
three sons, David of Bow-
manville; Dale of Bridgeport
and Donald of Hanover and
four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by
one sister, Mrs. Elmer
(Sylvia) Collins.
We wish to thank everyone
for the gifts, cards and best
wishes received on the occa-
sion of our 40th wedding an-
niversary. A very special
thanks to Dr. J. Pluta, the
Blyth CWL for their fine
supper and all our relatives,
friends and neighbors who
joined together to make a
day we will- always remem-
ber with joy.

area, Charles Oliver Doll of
Hamilton, passed away
Thursday, May 26, in
Westminster Hospital,
London. He was in his 63rd
year and death followed a
lengthy illness.
Born in Brussels on August
8, 1921, Mr. Doll was a son of
Angela Fulgony and the late
Oliver Doll. Besides his
mother, he is survived by his
wife, the former Rose Marie
Ohm of Wingham; two
daughters, Mrs. Pat Bustard
of London and Mrs. Bill
(Suzanne) Tsuchida,
Brantford; one son, Peter
Doll of Kitchener;-- and two
grandchildren, Amanda
Bustard and David
Tsuchida. There are two

The death occurred
Wednesday, May 25, in

Hospital, of Mrs. Mary
Marjorie Ross Zeihr of
Cranbrook. She was in her
83rd year,

four grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her husband
Edward (1978), five brothers
and five sisters.

Watts Funeral Homes on
Saturday at two o'clock.
Cremation followed.
Burns Stewart,
Gorrie resident,
dies in hospital
A resident of the village of
Gorrie for several years,
Burns Stewart passed away
Thursday, May 26, at
Wingham and District
Hospital. He was in his 85th
year.
Mr. Stewart was prede-
ceased by his wife, the
former Irene Rever- He is
survived by one son, Edward
of Bluevale. and one brother,
Oliver. RR 1. Gorrie.

Mr. Doll served in the
Second World War, 1939-45,
in Canada, The United
Kingdom and Northwest
Europe. From 1955 to 1965 -he
was with the Canadian
Forces and a member of the
United Nations Peace Corps
in Egypt. He was a former
member of Brussels Legion
Branch 218.
Funeral service was
conducted Saturday, May 28,
at The Currie -Walker
Funeral Home, Wingham, at
two o'clock by Rev. J: Rea
Grant of Wingham United
Church. Interment followed
in Wingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred
Ohm, Clarence Ohm, Peter
Doll, ian Bustard, Bill
Tsuchida and Don (Hank)
Coleman. Richard Ohm and
Bill Ohm carried floral

mourning the passing of a
loving husband, father and
grandfather following the
death of Charles Anthony
Deitner of RR 1, Ethel, on
May 28 in Wingham and
District Hospital. He was 79
years of age.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Josephine Weber; six
daughters. Mrs. Edward
(Patricia) Orlowski of
Prince Edward island, Mrs.
Stan ( Marjorie) Bolger of
Cambridge (G), Mrs.
William(Marlene)
Henhoffer, Mrs. Karl (Ruth)
Gmach and Mrs- Jim
( Rosemary) Frznadel, all of
Kitchener, and Mrs. Ray
(Betty) Nafziger, Guelph;
and four sons, Raymond of
Waterloo, Ronald, New
Hamburg. Donald and
Kenneth, both of Ethel. Also
surviving are 32 grand-
children and one sister. He
was predeceased by four
brothers and three sisters.

L. Watts Funeral Homes
where Mr. Deitner rested
until Tuesday when removal
was made to St. Ambrose
Roman Catholic Church,
Brussels, for service at 1t
o'clock. Final resting place
is St. Ambrose Roman
Catholic Cemetery.

The Carr family
Turnberry native
passes in Toronto
Andrew H. Wallace died in
Toronto on Friday, May 20,
in his 92nd year. Born in
Turnberry Township on June
10, 1892, he attended
elementary school at SS No.
3' and later taught there.
Mr. Wallace was a veteran
of World War I and later was
principal of . Etobicoke
Collegiate from 1928 tmtil
1950. He continued on as
Mathematics teacher until
his retirement in 1956. He
enjoyed gardening and
playing chess at his Burn-
hamthorpe Crescent home
in Etobicoke during his
retirement.
He was the husband of the
late Gladys May Spindler;
father of the late David John
and father-in-law of the late
Kathleen Gertrude (Trudy)
Hamilton. His passing is
mourned by his son, Andrew
Alexander (Sandy), and
grandchildren, Mary Sandra
(Mrs. Ken Speedie),
Margaret Jane, Graeme
Scott, and three great
grandchildren.°
The funeral was held at the
Butler Funeral Chapel on
May 25. Cremation followed_

for the annual D -Day church
service,
The Howick Auxiliary is
hosting the D -Day service on
Sunday, June 5. The service
will be held in Wroxeter
United Church at 10 a.m. The
parade to the church will
form .. in the Wroxeter
Community Ball Park at•9:30
a.m. and will be led by the
Brussels Legion Pipe Band.

Auxiliary, Blyth Branch 420
