A land where they lived happily ever after," Isaid Mushroom. r Colour the picture. In today's story, a strange grown-up offers the Vegetable youngsters a treat.. Everyone is waiting for Mushroom in silence. No one wants to be caught by Mr. Cabbage. In the past, they have always enjoyed Mushroom's visits. He always has such mysterious stories to tell. This time is extra special. Mushroom is going to tell them about a Magic Potion and a won- derful garden where everyone is happy and everyone feels good. Suddenly Mushroom is there. He sits down in front of them and begins his story. "Once upon a time, there was a gar- den where everything went wrong and the people didn't feel good. They had a lot of problems. Then one day, they asked a friendly Mushroom to help them. He gave them a Magic Potion and suddenly everything changed." "How did it change?" questions Corn. "Well," says Mushroom, "taking the Magic Potion made them feel better. They could be anything they wanted to be, and they could forget their problems." "Even when it rained, it seemed that the sun shone every day. It was as if candy floss grew on trees and the water turned to soda pop." "Then what happened?" asks Tomato. "Well, they're still living happily ever after, of course," says Mushroom. "1 don't believe it," says Carrot. "It's only a story." "1 have the Magic Potion here in my bag," says Mushroom. "Why don't you try it?" "Quiet!" says Radish. "Somebody's coming!" immediately Mushroom disappears. It is Mr. Cauliflower who shows up. 1 "What's going on here?" grumbles Mr. Cauliflower. "Oh, nothing," says Radish inno- cently. "We're just talking." "Looks to me like you're up to no good," says Mr. Cauliflower. He conti- nues on his way. Radish waits until Mr. Cauliflower has gone, and then asks, "What do you think „of Mushroom's Magic Potion?" "Who needs it," says Tomato, "Come on, Beet. Let's go and play." "I don't need a Magic Potion, 1 always feel good," says C(rrot, but as " )tie speaks, he is not sure if it is true. "1 think the Magic Potion sounds exciting," says Brussels Sprout. '"imagine, living happily ever after!" Corn, who all this time has sat still, says, "it's never that simple, Brussels Sprout. It's never that easy to live happily ever after." Brussels Sprout nods his head, but he isn't sure he understands. JOHN JACKSON Certified Master Graphoanalyst Dear Dorothy: I want to get married, but where is Mr. Right? That's my big worry. I know that there is one right mate for every person, but where do I start to look for that spe- cial man just meant for me? — F.S. Dear F.S.: The ideas that there is just one "right per- son" for you, or for anyone else, is pure romantic non- sense. There is no man in this world "made to order" just for you, who has no other aim in life but to make you happy. The man you marry will have his own individuality, shaped by the way he was brought up. And guest what? He'll be just as much concerned about his own happiness as you are about yours. So, before you make that vivifying search for love, best you know a little about yourself and what you'll be taking with you into a marriage. First, you're easily hurt, easily offended, and a lot of the time you feel rejected by others. All this is seen in •tbe:very-large-t loops: In looking for Mr. Right, remember the demands of your personality. You don't basically feel good about yourself, and you'll have to admit you're somewhat childish at heart, seen in low t crossings. You'll try to smother your feelings. Your back- hand writing says it's so. You'll harbor them in- wardly and then wonder why your husband doesn't know how you feel and, seemingly, passes you by. If you continue to think that there's only one Mr. Right out there for you, then, as hurts and disap- pointments start to pile up, you're likely to wonder if you married the wrong person. And, with your misconstrued thought in mind, you're apt to reach out for other pastures, hop- ing to find someone better. Marriage alone will never make you happy. You have to give 60 per- cent of yourself to it. How happy you'll be de- pends more upon you and your adjustment than upon the person you marry. TV TEASERS By W. WILSON CASEY 1.
