Ribbons
'n' lace
By ELLEN APPEL
Sweet-smelling sachets
seem to belong in a puff of
ribbons and white lace.
Scented lace pillows are
beautiful in the bedroom;
tiny versions tuck neatly
into shelves and stocking
drawers.
It's easy to weave white
lace into a pillow front.
For added interest, ribbons
provide " decorative bor-
ders.
If you don't have a scrap
bag of ribbons and lace,
you can buy all you need
from your local variety
store. You'll find sachet
supplies in your garden or
supermarket.
Here are directions for
ribbon and lace pillows:
MATERIALS: For all
pillows: White lace; velvet;
satin or grosgrain ribbon;
sewing supplies. Note: The
smaller the pillow, the
skinnier the ribbons and
laces you'll need.

12x12 -inch square of white
fabrics for _-pillow front'
12x12 -inch square of veel-
vet, lk, atinr- hr lux-

fabric for pillow front; 6x6 -
inch square velvet, silk,
