He asked the Rev. Lloyd B. Martin to give the call to • worship. , The choir sang "Em- manuel", and Marilyn Elgie gave the scripture from Isaiah. The rneSsage was given by Mr. Elgie and the choir sang "Do Your Hear Candle number one, -Promise", was lit by Mildred Coupland and Mr. Elgie led in prayer. Following ,several more musical numbers and the scripture from John 3:16 and the message by Mr. Elgie, Jack Clarke lit the second candle, "Love". More Christmas hymng were sung by the children of the choir, the choir and the congregation. Phyllis Mc- Michael read from Luke 2:4- 7 Mr. Elgie gave the message and the congrega- tion sang "Silent Night". The third candle, "Hope", was lit by Eleanore Gibson. Following more hymns, Garry Chambers read Matthew 2: 1-11, Mr. Elgie again gave the message and Jim Dunbar lit .the fourth candle, "The Light of Christ . The' congregation sang one verse of "We Three Kings" and Rev. Martin gave the closing prayer. With all candles lit and everyone. singing "When Lights Are Lit",. all 'proceeded to the front of the church to receive their own lighted candles to light their way home.
