He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Brewer; his wife, the former Ruby Bone; and two brothers, William and Fred. The late Mr. Brewer rested at the Brussels Chapel of' M. L. She was in her 84th year. Mrs. Brydges was the former Josephine Jessie Johnston and was born in Morris Township on Sep- tember 28, 1898, a daughter of the late Henry Johnston and Margaret Elizabeth Golley. She attended SS No. 5, Morris, and received her secondary education at Wingham High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Wingham, and until her health failed, she was an active member of the Anglican Church Women - and the church choir. Mrs. Brydges was predeceased by her husband on January 28, 1959. The late Mrs. Brydges; rested at The Currie -Walker Funeral Home, Wingham, where friends paid their respects until Sunday when - service was conducted at three o'clock by Rev. J. T. M. Swan. Interment followed in Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Kenneth John- stone, Allan Johnstone,' Paul Rousselle, Murray Downie, Craig Brydges and Michael Brydges. S. Whitby dies at home Mrs. Edward (Ted) Whitby passed away sud- denly at her home, 335 Shuter Street, Wingham,: on gtinday, December. 13. She was in her 58th. year. • The former Helen. McAlpine Gibb, Mrs. Whitby was born in County Fife, Scotland, on June 30, 1924. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Henry Gibb. Left to mourn her passing, besides her husband, are two sons, Dave of Smith Falls and George, Wingham; six daughters, Mrs. Alex (Lynda) Mawhinney, London, Joan of RR 5, Kincardine, Mrs. David (Nancy) O'Neil, RR 1, Wingham, Mrs. M. (Marie) Fryfogel, Kamloops, British Columbia, Mrs. ' Peter - (Karen) Braun, Wingham, .and 'Pam of Edmonton, Alberta. There are 13 gra'ndchildren; three brothers, 'David Gibb of Whitechurch, Bob and Harry Gibb, both of Stoney Creek; and one sister, Mrs. Jim (Isobel) Edward, , Clinton. She was predeceased by one son, -Edward; one sister; one brother and one grandson. Mr. McBurney was a son of the late Hugh McBurney and Annie Bengouph. Elie attended school ar Marnoch and . farmed before his retirement to Wingham, in , 1946. He served six years on • the East Wawanosh Council and was road supermtepclest;.. for the township for 25 years, - retiring from that position in 1955. 11e was a member of the Wingham United Church;' the Belgrave branch of the - Loyal Orange Lodge and the Canadian Order ' of Foresters. Mr. McBurney is survived by his wife; the former Sarah Elizabeth (Sadie) King, whom he married in Turn - berry Township on ' Sep- tember 2, 1914. There are two daughters,. Mrs. Gordon (Lavine) Robinson of Wingham and Mrs. Dewitt (Gladys) Adams, RR 2, Gorrie; five grandchildren and seven great grand- children.
