Funeral Home, Toronto,. for
, Vernon R; Dowson of
Toronto who, passed away in
Bethany in his 86th year. •
Mr. Dowson was born in.
South Africa and was a son of
the late Robert Dowson and
his wife, the former Letitia
Anderson. His mother lived
in West Wawanosh from 1871
until 1892 when she married
and went with her husband to
South Africa. When he was in
his teens, Mr. Dowson
returned to Canada. He
served with the Infantry and
Royal Canadian Air Force
during World War I and
returned to Toronto where he
was employed by the post
office.
In Toronto, he married the
former Frances June
Campbell who predeceased
him. He is survived by four
children, Eric of Belgrave,
Betty and Conroy of Toronto,
Roberta Fuller of Montreal.
There are four • grandchil-
dren, Robert, Paula, Willie
and Christine; and two great
grandchildren, Tracy and
