place at St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church amid
lighted tapers in candelabra
and flowers of dusty rose and
white. Rev. Paul Mills of-
. ficiated.
The bride is the daughter
of - Mrs. Connie Foxton,
Wingham, and the late John
Foxton. Parents of the
groom are Mr. and Mrs. Clif•
ford Heffer, RR 1, Wingham.
The bride entered the
church escorted by her
brother, Randy Foxton,
Wingham. Given in mar-
riage by her mother, the
bride looked lovely in a
southern style gown of white
chiffon with lace overlay. A
picture hat with layers of
chiffon and a tiered train
accented her dress. She
carried an arm bouquet of
white and burgundy Sweet-
heart roses and baby's
breath.
The bride was attended by
her sister, Mrs. Lynn
Johnston of Wingham, as
matron of honor. She wore a
floor -length gown of bur-
gundy polyester- knit with a
Hewing jacket of georgette
lace in a paler shade of bur-
gundy. She carried a
nosegay of carnations,.
daisies and baby's breath
and wore coordinating
flowers in her hair.
The bridesmaids were
"Miss Heather Struthers of
Calgary and Miss Cathy Mc-
Cracken of Wingham,
friends of the bride, and Mrs.
Debbie Metcalfe of RR 1,
Clifford, sister of the bride.
They wore gowns similar to
that of the matron of honor.

Allison Metcalfe of RR 1,
Clifford, niece of the bride,
was junior bridesmaid. She
was dressed in a floor -length
gown of dusty rose polyester
knit with a jacket of geor-
gette lace. A halo of daisies,.
carnations and baby's
breath accented her hair and
she carried a white basket
containing similar flowers.
The groomsman was John
McCracken, Wingham,
friend of the groom, and
ushers were Tim Heffer of
Olds, Alberta, Robert Heffer
of Saskatchewan, brothers of
the groom, and Randy
VanderWoude, Wingham,
friend of the groom. Junior
usher was Stephen Heffer of
Sarnia, nephew of the
groom.
Mrs. Don Robertson as
organist and Francis Mahe
playing the guitar ac-
companied Mrs. Debbie
Inglis who sang the Theme
from Love Story as the bride
entered the church and
"Time in a Bottle" as David
and Susan lit, the candles to
unite their love. "Devoted to
You" was sung during the
signing of the register and as
the bride and groom left the
church, "Walk Hand in
Hand" was sung amid the
best wishes of friends and
relatives.
Following the ceremony
guests were received at a
reception in the .Teeswater
Complex which was
decorated with candelabra
and flowers of dusty rose and
white. The bride's mother
received guests in a street -
length dress of black and
white chiffon with a white
orchid corsage. She was
assisted by the groom's
mother in a street -length
dress of blue silk crepe with
a corsage of pink Sweetheart
roses.
Honored guests at the
wedding were the bride's
paternal grandmother, Mrs.
Margaret Foxton, Wingham,
and the groom's great aunts,
Olive and Effie Otilpon of
Moncton, N. B'. o
Prior to the wedding the
bride was honored at a 'com-
munity shower given by her
attendants and a girlfriends'
shower hosted by Roseanne
Skinn.
Guests were present at the
wedding from, New Bruns-
wick, Alberta, London,
Brantford, Saskatchewan,
Wingham,: Barrie, Tees
water and Auburn.
Mr. and Mit.. Heffer are
residing at RR 3, Listowel.
The bride is a graduate of the
Wingham and District
Nursing Assistants' Training
Centre.

Ontario awarded $400 each to
144 students, ' as well as
$40,000 to the burns unit of
the Shriners' Hospital and
other benevolent causes.

checkup . on his eye and had

about the disabled
Mrs. Muriel Thompson,
guest speaker at the meeting
of the Wingham branch off
the Women's Institute, spoke
about the disabled and also,
"The Simple Things of Life".
The Citizenship and World
Affairs meeting was held in
the council chamber on
Thursday, President Mrs.
Robert Powell welcoming
everyone.
The roll call was answered
by "One reason we should
appreciate living in
Canada"-, with some in,
teresting responses: A report
on the rally: held in Belgrave
on October 5 was given by
Mrs. H. Hardier Mrs. Perry
Pennington gave the motto,
"Let us live up to the Mary
Stewart Collect", stressing
the importance of kindness.
Mrs: Pennington then in-
troduced the speaker; Mrs.
Thompson, who defined a
disability as anything ,that
prevents peepl'e : from func-
tioning normally in •society.
She said many handicapped
who are employed do work
equally as well, or better,
than others and efforts are
being made to financially
help the employer to hire the
handicapped. Canada is
trying to get legislation
through, to protect the
handicapped.
Mrs: Thompson spoke of
ways to help the disabled and
closed with some.thoughts on
the enjoyment, of "The
Simple Things of Life". She
was thanked and presented
with a- small gift in ap-
preciation.
The hostesses, MrS.
Uldene McKenzie and Mrs.
Willis Lapp, served refresh-
ments and all enjoyed a
social time.
