The Brussels, Legion Pipe Band led the parade at noon Saturday from the Howick Central School to the com- munity centre. The Legion color party, Cubs and Brownies joined the floats, horses, decorated bicycles and costume classes. A service diploma was awarded posthumously to Scott Clarkson for his con- tribution to agriculture in the community and for his support of the Howick Fair. His widow, Mrs. Jean Clarkson of Fordwich, ac- cepted the award. Mrs. Bethke was in her 87th year and died in Hanover hospital. The funeral was held Monday from the Ward Funeral Home, Weston. Mrs. Bethke was a resident of the Kurtzville area some years ago.
