('OOKiNG CLUCKERS
By Cheryl Hubbard
The,third meeting was
held lst Monday at Verna
Brown's home with eight out
nine metnbers present.
After the roll call,
everyone knew that eggs are
packed large end up.
We learned the basics of
what an egg looks like on the
'inside and what job each
part of the egg has. We
finished that part of the
lesson by labeling the parts
of the egg.
We also discussed how
eggs are graded and what
role they play in recipes.
Remember, when buying
eggs always check the "best
before" date. The club
learned that eggs should be
kept in their carton.and not
in the refrigerator, door
because it is the' warmest
part of the appliance.
We were given a word
puzzle to do as part of the
home assignment. We were
also given the task of finding
the prices of different sizes
of eggs.
The next meeting will be
held Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. We
closed the meeting with Egg-
onQmical Quiche and the 4-H
motto.
