Both games displayed the

Offensive zone, but also dis-
closed the Achilles 'heal of
the Club i ". sloppydefensive
work, not solely- the. respons-
ibility of the defencemen but
forwards and center as well
in the defensive„.area. Bad
clearing, bunching up and
failure to move the puck got
the Ironmen in trouble on
more than one odeasion. A
lot of work will have to be
done behind their own blue -
line.
Brad Humphrey gave the
Ironmen the early lead mid-
way through the opening
period with the goahepulled
in favor Of an extra attacker.
The sixth man did not get a
chance to figure in the
scoring drive, as Humphrey
converted the rebound after
Jamie Cooper had stopped
the first shot from the op-
posite side of the crease.
Before the period ended
the Mariners evened things
as Bevin Grieg quickly cOn-
verted a cross ice pass while
being parked 10 feet out in
front of the goal.
The mariners started fast
in the middle frame, capital-
izing on the Ironmen mis-
takes in their own zone. Tom
