BELGRAVE t
The third meeting- of the
Belgrave No. 1 4-H club
opened with the 4-11 pledge
It was decided that Meribeth
Scott would design our
covers ' and that our club
name would be the "Chick'n
Cluck Clan".
Our leaders discussed the
structure of an egg and the
differences between fresh
and stale eggs. Eggon-
OT ,ical Quiche" was made
bythe members and enjoyed
by all.
For our home assignment
'ach member is to go to the
grocery store and record the
price of the different grades
of eggs and report theresults
in her book.
BELGRAVE II
The president, Joan
Higgins,. opened the second
meeting of the Belgrave II 4-
H club. We first checked our
home. activities. Next .we
answered the roll call, which
was name a chicken bone.
That •roll call wasn't too
difficult,
Mrs. Meier, the leader,
read some of the book work
and then we went into the
kitchen . at the WI hall. Of
course each member washed
her hands.
That week our club used
the chicken which we cut
the week before. First Alison
Coultes and Veronica
Bakelaar washed and pat -
dried the pieces of thicken.
Heather McIntosh drained
the excess juice off the
peaches, while someone else
was spreading barbeque
sauce on the chicken pieces.
The chicken was placed in
the electric fry pan and we
left it to cook for awhile.
The girls headed back to
do some more work in their
books with the leaders. Later.
Veronica Bakelaar and Ruth
Higgins turned the chicken,
which we could all smell.
Next, Angela Nethery and
Katherine Procter spread
the peaches on thepieces of
'thic-ken, -which looked
delicious..
Soon the work in our books
was all done and the chicken
was ready to eat. Everyone
was very hungry! All the
members liked the chicken,
but the peaches did not taste
all that great.
The meeting of September
21 concluded with the 4-11
motto and the next meeting
will be held on September 27
at the WI Hall. Denise
Nethery and Angela Nethery
cleaned the kitchen up since
they were on clean-up duty.
