Rev. Jim Higgins officiated and was assisted by Rev. Richard McLellan. Yellow tapers in candelabra surrounded the altar with arrangements of yellow full chrysan- themums, mauve pompon mums and , white daisies surrounding the candles. Miss Mary Jean Wilhelm was organist and Mrs. Mary Lee sang two solos during the celebration of love, "God of Love, 0 God of Goodness" and "Walk Hand ur Hand" . • The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Nesbitt of Wingham and parents of the groom are Harold and Marion Knox, Blyth. Mr. Nesbitt gave his daughter in marriage. The bridal gown was sheer organza styled with sweetheart neckline and 'long full bishop sleeves with an overlay opening from shoulder to cuff exposing Venice lace applique. The dress also featured a lace -trimmed bodice and cathedral train. She wore a white hat with attached veil and carried a cascading bouquet of yellow Sweet- heart roses, ivy trails and white bridal wreath. Miss Corrine Nesbitt of Wingham was her sister's maid of hondr and bridesmaids were Mrs. Theresa Haines of Wingham, friend of the bride, and Miss Susan Wismer of Owen Sound, cousin of the bride. Miss Pamela Nesbitt of Wingham, another sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. The attendants were gowned alike in two-piece jacket gowns of frost yellow polyester satapeau. The gowns were styled with shoestring straps, pleated overlay bodices and gathered skirts. The hip - length jackets had matching appliques over the shoulders and on the bodices. The girls carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, made of yellow ,Sweetheart . roses, mauve azalea blooms, white daisies and lavender bridal wreath. A friend of the groom, Edwin Haines of Wingham, performed the duties of best man. Guests were ushered by Brian Bromley of Blyth, a friend of the groom, and the groom's brother, Phillip Knox of Blyth. Following the ceremony, a small family dinner was held at Turnberry Tavern, followed by a reception at the Wingham Legion Hall. The bride's'mother chose a navy, red and white polyester street -length dress with a silk corsage of red Sweetheart roses and white • daisies. The groom's mother chose a two-piece polyester white and black 'suit with a silk corsage of yellow' Sweet- heart • roses • and white daisies. , For travelling to Niagara Falls and Toronto, the bride changed to a black polyester street -length dress with floral design and. a corsage :of pink Sweetheart roses. • They will reside in Blyth. 'Out-of-town . guests at- tended the wedding from Blyth, Owen Sound, London, Winnipeg, Toronto, Beams - vine, Hespeler, Kitchener, Mitchell, • Coruna, Stoney Creek, Goderich and Walk- erton. Honored guests were the bride's grandparents, Mrs. Mary. Readman of Wingham and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Weatherhead of Beamsville; and the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Knox, Blyth. WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT—Mr. and Mrs. Har- vey McDowell, Blyth, Ont., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Carol Lynne, to John Carlo Spadoni, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leveo Spadoni, Sault Ste. Reports of several stum- mer activities were received: the Institute float won first prize in Wingham's Western Hoedown parade; the Institute crest is now on the town sign at the northern entrance to Wingham on Highway 4; Institute ladies entertained at Huronview and provided lunch for the residents. In upcoming business, delegates were. nominated for the rally in Belgrave Oct. 5. A dessert euchre and white elephant sale are planned for Oct. 30 in the council chambers. The Institute sponsored Marilyn Maclntyre of Wingham in the Howick Fall Fair Queen contest held last Whitechurch Murray Gibb of Brandon arrived home last week for a two-week visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Gibb. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, Darlene, Sharon and Brenda of St. Catharines spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. Wilfred Clipperton left Friday to attend the fair at Thorndale. This community extends a ,warm welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Falconer who have • purchased Tony Straker's property. They moved to their new home on Saturday. Miss Faye Irwin of Kit- chener spent the weekend with her parents, Mr., and Mrs: Orland Irwin. On Saturday a garage sale was held .by the Calvinette Club of the Lucknow Christian Reformed Church at -George Lubbers' work- shop. It was a good sale with good financial receipts. Mr. and Mrs. Hector Purdon of Strathroy. spent the weekend with his sister, Mrs. Robert Mowbray. Lyle Willis of Listowel spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Burrows. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Oberholtzer, Jeffery and Julie of Waterloo called Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Bill Rintoul, and were also visitors. with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul and family, West Wawanosh. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson of St. Catharines spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Orland Irwin. Leroy Rintoul of Bradford. Mr. Rintoul had been at Seaforth Fair as judge for the 4-H club calves. Mrs. Doris Wilken spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Jim Scott, at Fisher- man's Cove. Rev. Hugh Nugent officiated for the seven o'clock ceremony and Wilma Clarke was organist. A trio com-, of Murray, Susan and Alex Irvin sang "We've Only Just Begun", "Annie's Song" and "Turn Around". Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb, RR 3, Goderich, and Mr. and Mrs. George Darling, RR 4, Wingham. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride, chose a floor -length gown of white chiffon with full sleeves and sweetheart neckline. Appliqued lace and pearls adorned the empire • waistline and sleeves. She carried a cascade bouquet of salmon roses, lilies and baby's breath. Dianne Readman of Wingham, a close friend of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a gown of sweet pea polyester with a matching sheer jacket. She carried a bouquet of green and salmon roses, lilies and baby's breath. In sin'lilar ensembles were the bridesmaids, Nancy Darling, sister of the groom, of RR 4 Wingham, and Kendra Elphi ck, RR 3, Lucknow, a friend of the bride. Bill Darling of Sarnia was his brother's best man and guests were ushered by Colin Lamont of Goderich, cousin of the groom, and Glenn Robb, RR 3, Goderich, brother of the bride. Out-of-town guests from Lion's Head, London, Listowel, Holstein and Kitchener were received at a reception in the Lucknow Community Centre. The bride's mother wore ' a polyester dress in 'figured rose shades with a corsage of dusty rose and pink roses. The groom's mother chose an off-white polyester dress with small pink floral design. Her corsage was deep pink roses. For travelling to Northern Ontario,. the bride wore a navy crepe dress with floral designs of mauve, wine and light blue. Her corsage was pink and mauve orchids. TEESWATER IV The Cheery Cluckers Clan held its second meeting at McCormick's home on Sept. 24 at 7: 30 p.m. Tho president, Anne Simpson, led the girls in the 4-H pledge then they split into two groups to prepare two chicken dishes. While the food was cooking, the members voted on a new club name. The Cheery Cluckers Clan was decided upon.
