With well over two hun-
dred interested and enthrs-
iastic citizens attending the
-annual flower show on Satur-
day, the Wingham Horticult-
ural Society completed an-
other milestone in its service
to the cdmrnunity.
The show, held in the Arm-
ouries, with its larger space,
was up slightly in the overall
number of exhibitors and
entries. The variation in the
weather proved detrimental
to many entries,, especially
in the rose section.
A number of first-time
exhibitors were welcome. to
the show and proved to be
winners. The warm sunny
weather on Saturday
brought many people to the
show and helped the society
live up to its motto: "Keep
Wingham Beautiful".
The judges were Mrs. J.H.
Lambert and Mrs. Janet
Hassan of Guelf, and Mrs.
Mary Lloyd acted as clerk,
which she has done for a
number of years, with the
grateful thanks of the soc-
iety.
