Council authorized the temporary borrowing of finances from $18,000 or the amount required but not more than $40,000. The tender Of Nicholson Concrete of St. Marys, was accepted by , council over 'seven other tenders for about 3,480 feet of cement sidewalks in Wroxeter. The total bid received was for $27,947.58. An imposition of a special annual rate on the Wroxeter Police Village to raise money for the construction of sidewalks was finally passed after being reviewed for a third time. The tender of Donegan's Haulage of,, Listowel was choseit over three others for work on township roads. The Quit Clain Deed was . requested by lawyers representing Mr. and Mrs. Douglas King who own the land north of the CPR right- of-way. The president, Mrs. Wellington Hargrave, presided over and opened the meeting with a prayer. Mrs. Stewart Rowley led in devotions and the roll call was answered by 16 mem- bers. Tickets were given out to be sold for the concert on MRS. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wilson, Mr. and Mrs.' Ron McClement and Sandra and Tom are on a trip to the western provinces. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Langendoen were married rencentiy in Saskatchewan. Mr. and Mrs. John Langen- doen accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dykstra of Kitchener , attended the wedding. The 'newlyweds have purchased a home in St. Marys and are now residing there bales ready to be sent now that the mail strike is over. Lunch will be served at the Howick anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 6 following the church service. If anyone has any pictures or write-ups that could be used for a display please contact Mrs. Don. King, Elva Foster or Mrs. Emerson Ferguson. A donation was made to the United Church to help with expenses for the Bible school. Mrs. Hargrave reported on the bus trip that the group took in June with the highlight being St. Monica House in Kitchener. Th 4 group will cater to a banquet in November. The meeting closed with a prayer and Mrs. Ferguson gave a humorous reading. Lunch was served by Mrs. Doug Bunker and Marian Kirby assisted by the hostess. R. W.
