The two teams went on to tie 2-2 in the nightcap, with Wingham out -hitting the Juniors 7-6. Edgar started the game for Wingham and was relieved by Petteplace in the seventh inning. Charlton was on the mound for Owen Sound and struck out seven while allowing seven hits. Pegg again had a big night at the plate with a pair of singles, while Edgar helped his own cause with two hits as well. Neil Bieman and Wayne Todd had the other hits, with Todd notching a double. Neil had the only strikeout by a Wingham pitcher in the game. Skinn, Stevenson and Doug Leitch had the hits for the BPs, who were outhit 6-3 in tha game, NEXT ACTION for the Wingham BPs is tonight when they travel to Owen Sound to meet the GTO in a _ doubleheader. That double- header gets underway at 8 p.m. at the Josephine Street ball park. .Royals win 1 lth straight with 12-2 win over Ayton The Wroxeter Royals won their Ilth straight game in league play as they pounded Ayton by a score of 12-2 Sunday night in Wroxeter. The Royals had a total of 17 hits in the contest, with Ron Riley leading the way both with his arm and his bat as he had three hits while allowing the opposition only Dave McCannell and Glen Gallaher cofittibuted home ftm each, .while Bill Robinson, Bob Dicke'rt, Rick Jacklin and Hon Smith each tied' two hits. Earlier on the weekend the Royals took part in the . Clifford tournament, ning One game and losing one. Friday the Royals were led by Bob Gibson, who had two hits, one a towering • home run over the centre field fence; to beat the Clifford Juniors by a score of 6-2. On Saturday the Royals. hooked up with Teeswater in what turned out to be a very exciting game. When. the . dust had settled, Teeswater had beaten the Royals 7-6 in , 10 innings on a home run by Ross Moffat. Twice the Royals had two -run leads in the game, but were unable to hold Teeswater off the board. Leading Wroxeter Were Gallaher, McCannell and Wintemute with seven hits 'among them. McCannell also had _a two -ren _la:inter in the fourth hang., — In an exhibition game at night, the Royals defeeted the home teem 7-6. This was a poorly -played game which it seemed neither team wanted to win. Palmerston jumped into a quick 3-0 lead before the Royals came back for seven runs and held on to win the game. The next home game for the Royals be Thureday, when archrival Cliffora Four Aces come to town. On the weekend the Royals will be playing in the Mildmay Fastball Tournament.
