Zurbrigg, died Saturday, April 25, at Palmerston and. District Hospital. He was in his76th year.,. Born m Howick Township, he was a son of the late Sebastian' and Emma Zurbrigg. Mr. Zurbrigg remained active in his community all his life. Besides operating hisfarm on the 10th of Howick, he also farmed on the 12th concession of Howick until 1976 when he and his wife retired to Harriston. LI He was a member of the Clifford Horticulture Society, past -president of the Huron County Federation of Agriculture and was a devoted member of the Fordwich United Church. The late Mr. Zurbrigg was 6-13 ,' Greta Ward of ER t, WI'o[eter, passed away April .3O at the home of her daughter, 412 Highland ROQ,l;d, Wingham. She was in .her 64th year. $Orn and educated in McKillop Township, Mrs. Ward was the former Greta Hulley, -a daughter of Mfrs. Tena Hulley of Monkton and the late Gordon Hulley. Besides her mother and her husband, Mrs. Ward is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Norman (Shirley) Reibeling, RR 1, Bluevale, Mrs. Ila Rae Zivkovich, Daytona Beach, Florida, Mrs. Orland (Pauline) Schu- macher, Seaforth, and Mrs. Ronald (Mary Lou) Herd, Wingham; three sons, Bill of Gorrie, Doug, RR 5, Luck - now, and Ron, Wingham. The body rested at the ..Hardy Funeral Home until Tuesday, April 28, when it was removed to the Ford- wich United Church for a funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. T. H. Fleetham of- ficiated. Zone 8 senior citizens hold rally in Vanasira BRUSSELS — One hun- dred and ten senior citizens, representing clubs in Goderich, Exeter, Brussels, Bayfield, Grand Bend, Clinton, Blyth, Seaforth, Hensall, Zurich, Dashwood and Holmesville, as well as two visitors from Lucan, met in the Vanastra Community Centre for the spring rally of Zone 8, United Senior Citizens of Ontario. T event was held Tuesday, April 28. President Mrs. Nola Love conducted the meeting, with the capable secretary, Mrs. Irene Johns, assisting. A minute of silence was ob- served in memory of deceased members and devotions were conducted by Rev, A. W. Young of Goderich. Robert Bell, reeve of Tuckersmith Township, welcomed the senior citizens to Vanastra and reports were given by the secretary and the treasurer, Charles Martini. The secretaries of all represented clubs gave three-minute reports of activities in their respective organizations. Bob Marshall, recreation director at Vanastra, reported on his programs and problems, 'urging everyone to become involved in the work of their respective community centres. The Zone 8 executive held a meeting at noon tti make arrangements for the fall rally and for delegates to attend the USCO provincial convention. The afternoon session' included a short. singsong and an address by the guest speaker, Mrs. Lavina Hamilton, . corre- sponding secretary of USCO. She was introduced by Kenneth. Johns and thanked by Mrs. Mary Grigg. Harry Baker spoke briefly, congratulating the executive members on their well- planned and organized meeting. Edwin Martin thanked the Vanastra people for granting the seniors the privilege of holding this rally at their fine community centre and a special vote of thanks was extended to the Vanastra ladies who provided tea, coffee and cookies for the luncheon. The senior .citizens hope for a larger attendance .at their fall rally in October which is tentatively slated for Holmesville.
